A thought about the Politics & Religion forum

Discussion in 'Religion and Spirituality' started by Thunderdog, Oct 15, 2008.

  1. I used to think that the Politics & Religion forum diminished ET's overall value and image, post counts notwithstanding. However, I now recognize that it serves as a valuable window to the fringe elements that reside among us. And while I always knew they were out there, I'm surprised by their number at ET, and I can only hope that their participation in the P & R forum is outsized and not representative of their presence at large. Hoping against hope...

If you mean the lunatic left wing moonbats, I know where you're coming from.

I've often wondered myself how an essentially capitalist web site can attract so many socialists and communists.

  3. Actually, I mean both extremes, but particularly the one you inhabit. I cannot remember when there had been more hate and lies spread about a presidential candidate as has been perpetrated against Obama. And you guys find comfort behind the moniker "Hussein." Yes, it is his middle name. So what? You are now judging people by their names? And if not, then why bring it up? And speaking of lunatic, it is often, but not always, the dyed-in-the-wool creationists and self righteous, "god fearing" "Christians" who are spewing overt hatred towards a man who will almost certainly be their next president. It's really quite repugnant and more than just a little hypocritical.

And as for your capitalist references:

  4. You know little about trading and less about politics.

    -----------------------------------------------

..The Republicans have alienated whole professions. Lawyers now donate to the Democratic Party over the Republican Party at 4-to-1 rates. With doctors, it’s 2-to-1. With tech executives, it’s 5-to-1. With investment bankers, it’s 2-to-1. It took talent for Republicans to lose the banking community.

    -------------------------------------------------

Anyone knows why lawyers donate to democrats, at least anyone with brains.

Doctors...well, I don't have a clue why they would be that stupid, to donate to people that want to make them gov't employees.

Tech execs......I presume it's because most of em live near San Fran. I'd like to see how many of the Austin, Tx tech people donate to democrats.

Investment bankers.....Another joke. Both senators are democrats who don't stand a chance of losing an election in NY and they both consider it their duty to defend the financial industry. Another one where you have to be an idiot to even ask the question.

1)I've tested just right of center several times. If I seem extreme it must because you're the other extreme.

2)I can, see it every day right here on ET against McCain/Palin.

    3)So what?

4)You'd have to ask "them" about that.

What about the non stop hatred spewed against the man who IS our president? Repugnant and hypocritical you say?

  7. I wonder if trading doesn't attract people that are otherwise unemployable? Lots of fringe folk are so dissatisfied that they really can not be motivated to work for anybody....

This may seem ironic, but shouldn't this thread be moved to Politics & Religion?

  9. Hell no! This is "feedback" about the P&R forum. Just because it has already turned into another D vs. R war doesn't mean it has anything to do with P&R. (joking).

I was thinking the same thing.
