Donald Trump on the stock market: ‘It’s all a big bubble’
Published Tue, Aug 9 20169:15 AM EDTUpdated Tue, Aug 9 201610:07 AM EDT

A day after making a widely watched public address on his economic plan, the Republican presidential nominee advised against betting on Wall Street.

The big problem, as Trump sees it: The low interest rate environment fostered by the Federal Reserve that has coincided with a 227 percent market gain since the financial crisis lows.

“If rates go up, you’re going to see something that’s not pretty,” the billionaire businessman told Fox News during a Tuesday morning phone interview. “It’s all a big bubble.”

Worries that the Fed has created a market bubble have shadowed the second-longest bull market in history as the central bank has kept its key rate near zero and expanded its balance sheet by $3.8 trillion in order to pump liquidity into the financial system.

The market is not anticipating a change to rates anytime soon, with traders most recently indicating just a 47.6 percent chance of a hike by the end of the year. However, the probability has been edging higher.

Trump’s call comes as other big Wall Street names like Jeff Gundlach, George Soros and Carl Icahn have warned of looming market dangers. However, the stock market gauge is up 6.7 percent this year.

Trump noted that he has dabbled in the market successfully — “I did like 50 stocks just for fun, because I’m not a person that really believes in it too much,” he told Fox — but cautioned against it.

“I wouldn’t do it,” he said.

Tony your polls are useless in this scenario, we haven’t dealt with a crisis of this magnitude since WW2. The only thing that matters is how the country deals and comes out of this pandemic crisis. I understand the need to dramatize by the media but in actuality it only appeals or affects the fringes, normal Americans are about fed up with the political bickering during a national crisis.

Mainstream America understands this is a worldwide issue, we are an unfortunate participant. If we come out of this in summer Trump will win re-election in a landslide and the continued attempt at impeachment or congressional harassment will play out badly for the left.

No matter what, Tony will spam us with his poll numbers every day just like he did before Trump was elected. He stopped after 2016 fiasco for a couple of weeks to heal his wounds but he is fully recovered now. The flood of crap is his style of conversation.
