A Question Regarding ButtonTrader

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by JSL_Capital, Mar 3, 2007.

  1. My question is directed at ButtonTrader users. I like the risk management side of the program but don't feel like having to learn how to operate it as I am quite comfortable using IB's Book Trader for now. Can you set the program so that while still using Book Trader for trading, ButtonTrader would liquidate my positions if my intraday loss reaches a predetermined amount?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, there is a max daily loss in risk management. It will close any position if the predetermined loss is reached.

  3. ButtonTrader really isn't very complicated to learn the basics on. I'm a recent user, learned the basics in several hours of playing around. They provide some tools to do just that. Plus you have a simultaneous setting in the software where you can try out ideas as a "paper trade" on actual data, to see if you have the technique down.
