we would have to want a life like the latter day saints for this to really gain traction and most of us want more than that.
How would I get food or a home? Would the community provide it for me? Who decides who gets how much? Would we be stuck in the stone ages, or would some be technicians and others farmers? Especially then, then who would decide who gets what?
actually, no-money economy is a bit misleading term. the world without the monetary system is possible only when there's abundance of goods and services in quantities way beyond the demand. anyone of us needs to travel/move and anyone needs to consume products which must be transported. all of us need power to light bulbs, use computers, cellphones, etc. this is perhaps the most common and widespread economic issue. imagine energy can be produced for free without the need of sending it over long distances- you could produce it locally, exactly in the place you want it. few consequences: - electric grid is gone - bp is kaputt (probably much earlier, heh!) so as other oil giants - we can transport goods produced in china, vietnam or india for FREE in just 2 hours to Europe and USA - using maglev trains inside vacuum tubes - if you have a wish of breakfast at NY tiffany's, lunch in Paris and dinner in Tokyo -voila, within one day, you could do that! - instead of making oil, gas and power companies richer, you'll pay MUCH less (less and less, towards zero) for every product as every product must be transported and requires electricity to make it. Combined with more advanced production automation, we'll enjoy: - the end of poverty all over the planet - end of prostitution. women will finally love us for who we are, not for what we earn ;-) - no thiefs. whats the point of stealing when you can have all material goods you want? guess who hates the above vision? - kissinger - brzezinski - people who love money instead of life - david rockefeller - queen elizabeth and all other psychopats who enjoy domination and seek prestige. They're old people and their time is coming
Who decides how much air can you breathe? It will be a pointless concern. Imagine there is 50 billion high quality, superb mobile phones and 7 billion population. Nobody will decide or sell them. You simply get one or two and your communication needs are fullfiled. Period Money has a functionality ONLY when there's a shortage of things people need/want. Basic economics.
Are we presently living in the Stone Age? NO, so why should we be living in stone-age societies in the future? Back to your Q's: First you should ask yourself- what will I provide and contribute to the society? rather than asking: Who is going to cook food for me and come knock on my door..."lunch is ready, Sir?' Or who is going to build a mansion for me in Orlando Florida while I go on a cruise to the Caribbeans? Or Who will open the limousine door for me when I arrive at the airport in London? Just do some pondering on the concept tonight and read my other responses, sure you will catch on.
Ya, no shit. It's too bad there isn't a hyperabundance of high quality mobile phones and telecom networks, or a hyperabundance of laborers skilled enough to build fucking maglev trains inside of vacuum tubes (which are difficult enough for NASA to build on a significant scale). In an alternate reality, ya, I can see how this would work. But in the real world? This idea is laughable. Our whole problem is that we are so limited in resources.
Who decides how much air I can breathe? That's probably the worse example I've ever heard. Air is in hyperabundance, and even then, we require government agencies to make sure it stays clean enough to not give us cancer. Air is also naturally occuring in every outdoor spot on earth. Is oil? Or uranium? How about nickel? Corn? Can I just "inhale" corn? Or beef? That's everywhere, right?
Try to be realistic please, these stuff sound like science-fiction and Jacques Fresco's 'the Venus project' stuff. Physics tells us that the max speed we can achieve can not be greater than speed of light. So you can't say, for example, that once we have a moneyless society, then we can travel back and forth to other planets in just 1 minute. Because the reality and scientific facts and principles have nothing to do with the people using money or not.
Look how many homes and office space are vacant around the world. Do you know how much agricultural land is wasted to feed the animals we then kill and eat their dead meat? Which by the way is one of the reasons of cancer, together with sugar. If the same land will be used to grow plants -hemp, vegetables and fruits you'll have 100x more food for the people than demand for it. On top of that you can grow plants using hydroponics technology which can be installed just like in tall buildings - floor by floor, requiring very little land. I tell ya, the most scarce thing on the planet right now are not resources. It is knowlegde.
hey, there is a HUGE difference between speed of 4,000 mph and the speed of light! there are prototypes, vehicles which travel with much higher speeds. http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/201...ider-disappears-whacking-global-strike-plans/ Mach 20! do you know how fast it is? besides, tell people people 150 years ago that you would be able to speak with somebody in australia in real time without the cord. or you would be able to fly across the atlantic.
