Matrox has a new line of cards to compete with Nvidia Quadro NVS...

The "Matrox-M" features passive cooling on all, and can drive 30" DVI monitors.

    Comparatively expensive, though... $259-$599.

thanks guys, that Matrox will be available in Q3/08, says the website. It's looking good.

the FireMV seems to be a good option too, thank you for suggesting this card.

I'll keep you posted, if anyone is interested.

Unless you want to run 30" monitors, Nvidia Quadro NVS line is the better choice due to price and availability.

You could run Nvidia Quadro NVS 290 dualheads... they come in PCIEx16 and PCIEx1.... likely save you some money vs. quad.

Or, you could run NVS 285s.. they also come in x16 and x1. Only 128MB RAM each card (256MB on 290s), but enough for trading.... 285s could save you more money.

ok, I just bought on eBay a nice Nvidia Quadro Nvs 290 PCIe x1, that powers 2 of my 24" LCDs, I also use NVidia GeForce 8500GT in PCIe x16... so that covers 3 monitors.

I bought another motherboard for the old P4 dinosaur, and I'm planning to use it with the older AGP and PCI multimonitor cards .. it will power the rest of the monitors...

    Thanks for the advice guys!

There's a fairly good chance you can get those 2 cards to work together, but they DO have different drivers... so don't be surprised if you have difficulty.
