I've met other readers of Taleb's Fooled by Randomness that also have read Pinker and they were not ex traders. Further, we can not make any assumptions about his day trading ability considering he's never discussed any trades nor abilities (failures) about his trading at this forum. Remember the marketsurfer guy...he bashed TA too (more than Amahrix) and was using it and recommending it elsewhere. Thus, I've seen some strange sh** at this forum. Amahrix could be the best TA user out there and we wouldn't even know it even if he denies it all like surf did. Seriously, joking aside, Amahrix could be a PHd student studying Randomness in the Markets and working on a research paper. Its been done before many times in which students have come to this forum to initiate a topic involving the markets. My ex when she was a PHd student read many books in her field of study (Child Psychology) that had contrasting views...its normal. Therefore, I hope Amahrix reads Pinker instead of listening to the opinions by others about Pinker. wrbtrader
You said ” It’s very nature is no one “sees it” ahead”. I suppose that includes me?? Or I am exempted. If I am exempted then I must be the only one who can “see” it ahead.
Mickey this is becoming a black swan event . You did not predict it correctly ...more than 50 pages and growing as A _ _ _ _ _x saves the day traders. Care to change your prediction?
Exactly the acceptance of the lack of certainty in our knowledge .... whether using FA, TA, BSA or any other methodology. I strive for high probability and leave the useless search for certainty to others. BSA a term I use a lot starts with bull the reader can add the rest.
High probability alone is misleading, must factor in payoff function. My probability of win can be 1% but payoff can be astronomical and I will end up ahead. I'd need to survive long enough to capture.
WRONG. There is NO noise in the market. Again wrong premise. Wrong definitions. Wrong conclusions. When the market..any market... moves 1 tick there is a reason why it did so.
