Yeah 2pac lived a life of drugs, crime, ect... something I never will. So you are right! Oh, and btw... I was a musician for 20 years... so yeah... cool huh? So you got me labeled "hard right". You like to label people? You know what sucks... last fall my teenage son and I went to his first practice for baseball... his coach had called us earlier and told us where to meet him at. We get there and I see this black man in the middle of the parking lot waving to people. He has a baseball cap on. Wearing sweats like a coach would. We come up to him and ask him if he is the coach. He says yes. And I say I thought so. He says "Because you saw a black man right"? I instantlly knew he had something against white people. Of course I thought he was the coach! He was the only dude in the whole parking lot where we were supposed to meet. He had a baseball hat on. He had sweats on. And yep, I could tell he was a black man on the telephone when he called us up and left a message. So what? Why was that "my bad"? I don't get it. I ended up being the assistant coach for him on the team. We became friends. So all ended up good. But I still wonder... Did I do something wrong? You tell me. I don't think I did. But he did. I guess it was his upbringing or whatever.. I don't know...
Okay... I have written up what I think of his version of the song: Here is how I see 2pacs Changes video: 1- Black man is tired of being poor and even worse (?) he is black and his stomach hurts so He goes out to snatch a purse. Does he look for a job first? 2- I agree cops are shooting too many people. And now they are being shot a lot too. 3- First ship 'em dope & let 'em deal the brothers give 'em guns step back watch them kill each other= Okay this BS is BS. No one forces dope or guns on nobody. He's feeling sorry for himself or whatever omg 4- It's time to fight back yeah.. not a good thing.. payback is a bitch but that is a choice people make 5- Learn to see me as a brother instead of 2 distant strangers = good line 6- How can the Devil take a brother if he's close to me?... I guess he is saying White man is the Devil? 7- All he sees is racist faces I hardly ever see racist faces so I don't know who he was looking at 8- Yep, both black and white smoke crack.. got that one right 9- We ain't ready to see a Black President got that one wrong but who knew at the time right? 10- Penitentiary is filled with criminals, not just blacks you get what you deserve is what I say don't do the crime if you can't do the the time. 11- Yeah, staying in the dope game is not a good idea 12- Selling crack to the kids I gotta get paid¨ Well hey, that's the way it is = again, a CHOICE. 13- It's time for us as a people to start makin' changes I guess he is talking about black people? Or everybody? 14- Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me = don't take drugs then, easy answer. 15- He ain't never did a crime yeah he did prison time so what is he talking about? 16- That's the sound of my tool (gun?) you say it ain't cool my mama didn't raise no fool = not cool 17- Talks about he has to worry about the paybacks because he roughed up some punk way back.. = payback is a bitch. Okay, my look at his song. Some is good, some is bad. Bad always outweighs good So if anyone else wants to give their thoughts on his song I would like to read it. = Cool.
Has nothing to do with being black. It's what he says in the song. And Aerosmith looks darn freaky back then.. Yikes! I know what 2pac was trying to say/do with his song. I just think there was some stuff in it that wasn't so good.
