This doesn't necessarily mean that I don't trust blacks or don't like blacks..Maybe it means I want my daughter to marry a Cuban man,,,did u ever think about it that way......
I completley understand your love of Cubans, but please do not write someone off just because of the color of their skin.. Variety is the spice of life!
Sw I ASKED THE question....not Cubano or MJ....I was pointing out some obvious character flaws that all men have....I love the way all these senators are pouncing on Trent Lott, yet I have to believe Tom Daschle would be a "little" upset if his daughter brought Snoop Doggy home for X-mass and said" this is the man i love"....As far as your thing about PRIVACY....What are you talking about? If you think it should remain PRIVATE don't post on a PUBLIC board!!!!....I mean, this is not who you voted for in the election for Christ sake...also, if we had a thread called "WHO DID YOU VOTE FOR AND WHY.....it would be kind of stupid to start saying it's PRIVATE...if you don't want to be involved, don't post.
(Being nice all the time can be a strain, when others aren't so nice) Well, we are pleased that you were able to take a break from that here.
The one idea that keeps me going, is that people CAN change. All I'm really asking for is understanding. There are parts of our history that are glossed over or left out of the history books entirely, so sometimes you have to research a little to find out. Something to think about: Most good hearted people who would still prejudge an african americans don't feel that they are inferior, they are just uncomfortable at the differences in cultures. Because of slavery/racism/segregation/tribalism, african americans and whites live in completely different cultures. To those who simply fear the cultural differences, I'd say, go out on a limb and try something new. You'll never know if you'd like it, until you try it...
I'm glad you're pleased. Be glad you aren't the last person who spewed shit in public to me. My best friend's boss was at a basketball game with us, and began to drop the "n" word left and right. I chewed him out in front of his emplyoees and friends, and I'm sure he'll think twice before he uses that term in public again. What a fool he must be to STILL think that shit passes in public. Crap like that is still EVERYWHERE, and it sickens me more each passing day.
why is the "N" word so offensive when said by a white man and not a black man?? Im a spic and glad to be one,, I dont care who calls me that. Yet, I here the word honky just as much and no one even notices it.....just asking
(why is the "N" word so offensive when said by a white man and not a black man?? ) I'l answer that one. A member of a group may use questionable terms, or make jokes about the group they belong to, and be excused since it is assumed that a member means no harm, but doubt the intentions of someone outside the group, who does the same. This is universal, and true for most races, occupations and religions, or any kind of group for that matter.
Hehe cubano, now you'll get me involved in a whole new argument! Here's my take. In society, both white leaders and african american leaders agree that the "n" word is a bad thing these days. In my view, whites have far less right to use the word. An example, Italians can refer to each other in jest as say.. "guidos", but if a non italian says it to italians, they will probably take exception. I will not necessarily chastise an african american for using the word, as I do not know their experiences. I have mentioned it to friends of mine before, and they generally understood my point of view. But, when a white person uses that word, the experience is all too common, and I'm very familiar with what causes it. They haven't been around black people, and they've been brought up to think that it is acceptable to use it in the company of other whites. GRANTED, there are many exceptions, like inner city whites iusing the term in the company of their african american friends. But in general, society agrees that the n word is wrong. I'll work on the whites that I meet, and there are african americans that will work on african americans that they meet.
