    Aphexboy, you're such a fool.

Slaves should have made the best of it? What a great argument...

You wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes in the cotton fields, pussy.

  3. You are very typical of middle america....You make condemnation about other people and are aghast at other's closed mindness, yet you secretly have your own views which are very similar.....I especially like your point from other posts which states "some slaves wanted to stay in the south"...."they had a good life"....that's like an abusive husband saying "some women need to be smacked around and know who is in charge of the house"
(just on a side note Mr. Politically correct, many abusive wives sty with their husband despite the beatings because there too afraid to leave...you think the slaves in the south may have felt similiar??)
Geez....Whose the close minded one now? All Trent did was give praise to a fellow senator and everybody took the ball and ran with it (forgetting of course that they were both Democrats at the time)....You on the other hand , feel there's varying degrees of slavery..I suppose it's all right for me to enslave a asian immigrant as long as I can prove that they have a better life serving me in my house then in their home land?????...hey, im cool with that, I give a hot meal three times a day and a room in my garage and i get my house cleaned and painted!!!???

Although the media and fellow politicians have "run with the ball"....We both know being a politician is not an easy gig. ( thats the life Trent chose). If you're opponents have something on you that can push you to the side they will most definitely "run with the Ball" as I am sure Trent would also. If other Republicans are turning their face to this situation its because they dont want to go down with the ship. Not for one second do any of these players really care what was actually said (just an opinion)........peace

You hit the Grand prize , tell him what he's won Johnny!

...not only do they republicans and dems. not really care, i would say most black men and women don't care either .....they vote 95% democrat so what differnece does it make to them or the republicans in the long term. Your right on the money though and that's why im attacking guys like aphex who pretend to be distrubed publicly yet privately they probably have sheets in their closet with mysterious eye-holes cut out!

I will agree that all people have prejudices, however please do not undermine that horrors of slavery. Whether slavery was common place or not through out history, the effects of the slave trade (cultural, financial, & psychological) are all present today. The slave that did not leave to go to the north does not prove that one was happy or comfortable as a slave. I'm sure there were a few who were but they were by far the minority. Many stayed behind because of fear. Fear of the unknown. Many were programmed to believe their lives had very little worth and that without the "master" they had no means of living a meaningful life. As far as suing corporations involved in slavery, the plaintiffs argue that these institutions profited from slavery. I believe strongly retribution should be paid. I think you can find other injustices to human beings in general more upsetting than slavery related lawsuits.

  10. Listen to yourself. If you were forced into slavery during a time when you didn't have any rights, what else is there for you to do? You can either make the best of the situation or risk possibly getting shot while trying to escape.

Slavery exists today, just in a different form. Do you think our society is really geared towards social welfare and reform? No, it is a capitalistic society, which means if you were born in a crack house, you'll probably die of old age in your 30's in a crack house. People who really want to work find it hard to get decent jobs, because they can't get the means to start climbing the ladder to better paying jobs.

So then you have people like Koslosky of Tyco (and the MANY MANY more top executives) who steal money left and right just to feed their addiction to expensive toys. He's paying over $300,000 dollars for a birthday party just so a butler can pour wine down the back of a statue and fill wine glasses out of its penis -- while there are countless people starving to death who really do want a chance at working.

You think slavery just has to be a simple person-to-person situation? No, because slavery has evolved into a more social-economic realm where society is now the slave-owner to countless neo-type slaves in the inner-cities.

Then you have these stupid republican / democrat arguments about how to spend money when kids are starving. That's right, while most of the upper-crust is driving with cruise control on their Mercedes Benz, there is a kid puking up his own intestinal fluids because he is so close to death from malnutrition.

I have spent time working on projects to help people. How many of you have volunteered time to help little kids get a home or get a meal?

Don't you sit behind your keyboards you fat capitalistic pigs and call me a pussy. At least I speak point-blank about things and don't hide behind issues with political correctness.
