  2. Most data recovery experts recommend using a second hard drive, not an SSD, to back up critical files. It is even better if it is a special type of external HDD.
    Experts advise against storing important information on SSD-drives, SD-cards and USB-flash drives, because it is difficult or impossible to recover information from such types of media.

    That’s the second topic I read today about this issue. I’m in the same boat as you. My Macbook Pro is seven years old and has so many problems. One day it works smoothly, the next day is helpless. At least you thought about backing up everything on time, I had to go to salvagedata.com and get back the whole data. My Mac just went dead and wouldn’t restore anything with Affinity. I definitely will give SDD a try. It’s not that expensive, and I don’t have money for a new mac. The prices for apple computers are so high today that buying a card seems like a good solution.
