Again, it'over 4 years. I would have preferred 5 years, but I understand why it is four. It is misleading -- Have you been to a CPAC training camp? :D -- to say "doubling [of] salaries." Virtually no salaries will double, or even be affected except thru pass-up effects. Wages for those making less than 15/hr will go up over four years, and only a fraction of these wages will double, because only a fraction of wages below 15 are at 7.25. We must stay focused on reality and not allow nonsense to invade our thinking.

No it is not, not in the economic sense of the term "cost shifting."
And your evidence for that is?

I'm all for raising the minimum wage across the board, just wonder if the timeframes should be different between megacorps and SBs. Obviously extending it past 4 yrs means the GOP can just kill the raise later but I have no knowledge of the economic impact over doing it in 4 yrs as opposed to longer.

Yeah. Its well known that Foxconn (apple's supplier has brutal working conditions and Chinese employees are not paid as much as american employees). Apple has cost shifted to the Chinese population.

It's also well known that the rare elements in iphones have a sordid supply chain involving significant human costs with slavery and murder.

Both of these provide Apple with higher margins.

And they don't believe that being able to pay "living" wage (whatever living means) means a business isn't viable.
