  2. For you know whom, but I won't mention any names :)

and this is offered in line with the thread title - health - except that in this case it means survival = life, not death both in real life AND in the MARKETS :):

    >>>> apply these techniques to make yourself impossible to detect, fruitless to waste energy on, and impossible to digest when caught. If all else fails, fight to the death. <<<<<<

    :)

try to get past the name, Victor Niederhoffer without the usual tirades and just read the fckin thing and see if you can get something of value out of it ...

    recs .... "Predators' Deadly Tricks"

note: it might be incredibly difficult for a prey species to put on a predator's hat to see things from that perspective, but try it anyway. :) :D

note 2: this is a deep subject and needs thought over considerable time + loads of observation.

  3. Excercise/Weightloss instructor in video MUST BE from ET.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BaRsNe065k&NR=1&feature=fvwp

Just as with TA from one "expert" to another, and amongst the 1000s or millions of "experts" in existence, it always goes the same way,

"use this technique ..... " and then they fck it up by adding, "but remember you cannot ignore ALL the other basic TA rules and guidelines"

now see this clown in the workout video - he starts out well by talking about Interval Training, and sure enough then fcks it up by saying this, "there's alot of other elements that come into play for weightloss"

in real life, a fatty listening to this guy would be encouraged by the first part of the video and then on hearing the cop-out would instantly feel deflated and lost once again - as before. Same shit, different clown teacher.

Then he fcks it up further by saying the fatty should do this workout 3 times/day plus even more bovine stuff towards the end of the video.

    ------------------------------------

ALL the stuff in op's first post(s) is taken care of automatically by the body telling you when/what ... there is no need to figure-figure and constantly remind yourself to drink, drink, drink, water or the nerdy concept, "hydrate" - or eat only this, never feel full, walk away from the table when ..., bla bla bla.

I told a fatty 8 months ago, "you can have pizza, BBQ, jap buffets, chicken curry, pepsi, juices, cheesecake, choc-cake, whatever - but (1) must be done as a way of life. Tears were streaming down her face as the concept hit home in a big way.

Fast forward, you couldn't even recognize her today, had to buy new clothes over the months, boundless energy, radiant smile, etc., ...........

  4. I am not on here all the time because I have other things to do. I wont be on here again for a little while after this post.

I wanted to come back to this thread to talk about death and aging which is an important topic and the whole point of this thread. I did not start this thread to make you a competitive athlete, but make you think on how to live a better quality life and last a little longer.

Here is my observation of what people usually die from. No, I did not conduct a study, but this has been my personal observation over time.

0-40s- Accidents(usually automobile), Drug/Alcohol related incidents, Random Violence and freak medical occurences that could not have been foreseen.

    40s-60s- Heart Attack

60+- Stroke, emphysema, cancer and just about any sickness you can think of.

From age zero to 40, you can avoid death most of the time through simple common sense and not doing certain things. There are freak medical occurences that I have witnessed such as a 35 year old lean man have a stroke or a 33 year old woman athlete have a brain aneurysm. Unexplained medical occurences that make you wonder...

From 40 to 60 is the time you really have to be mindful of your heart. Between ages 35-40, you have to focus more on cardio then just weights. How you are in your late 40s is how you will enter into that second part of life...

From 60 and above, then you will get hit with all kinds of things...

I noticed that most people who retire seem to pass away within 5 to 10 years. So if you retire, then you should get yourself at least a part-time job or do volunteer work. If you dont, then as I pointed out earlier you will not get the average 3 miles of walking per day.

No matter how much you exercise you will not be able to stop the aging process. General McChrystal is the best example. He has been in the Army his entire adult life subject to physical tests and he runs 7-8 miles a day. He does look lean and in-shape, but he could not be mistaken for being 20. There is no question that with his grey hair and wrinkled face that he is one of the older men.

So if you want to live that much longer its not too hard.

    1) Make good common sense decisions erroring on the side of safety.

    2) Dont drink, drink&drive or have anything to do with drugs.

    3) Stay as active as you can. If all you can do is speed walking a few miles each day, then do that. Keep on your feet, dont sit down. Dont worry about becoming a competitive athlete...worry about just making the distance.

    4) Live for today, dont put things off or you will look like General McChrystal. You might be in shape, but you will get old.

    5) Weight is the key ingredient to a quality life and longevity. The Metlife weight tables demonstrate that a lean man wins the race in the end. Dont eat at restaurants. Eat small meals at home. Avoid salt, sugar, anything oily or fatty. Avoid fast food places all together. When going to the store, purposely look at the labels of everything you buy and think. When sitting down to eat, you get one small plate and you do not go back for seconds. When drinking coffee, you go for Splenda. If you can grip your stomach or cant see your dick then you are probably overweight.

    6) Your body consists 60% of water which is needed for various processes. It wont hurt to consume at least 8 glasses of water per day. It will also help you in a way of not developing painful stones. There wont be any warning of that so its good to drink now. More water will help burn off additional calories. A small amount, but it will add up at the end of the week. If your urine is yellow, then drink a few cups of water. Your body doesnt have a red warning lamp to tell you its dehydrated. There are no alarm bells. So you need to keep drinking throughout the day.

    7) There are no miracle pills or herbs that will help you. Thats all snake oil and doesnt work. Focus on running and exercising. Focus on being hydrated and eating right. There is no pill that is going to make you healthy. In fact, all that stuff will probably make you sick.

Finally I want to end this post with this. The five things that will surely contribute to your demise are 1) a lack of happiness 2) stress 3) getting upset 4) a lack of self-esteem and 5)insecurity. The more unhappy you are, the more stress in your life and the more you get upset the shorter your life will be. You will age quicker and have more mysterious illnesses. I know a lot of people who would have lived at least 10 more years if they were more happy about life and a higher self esteem. Being happy will add more years to your life then anything else so the key to life is to stay positive even in the most negative situations.

  5. Incorrect, Sir. :)

1 Baby Aspirin (81 mg) per day is THE miracle pill.

Note: never mind that almost all doctors stress the above, but get a load of the possibly #1 worldwide chief cardiologist, Dr. Ladenheim at St. Joseph's Med Center in Calif.

"you can do everything wrong, but if you just drop that one baby/day, you'll live a long life"

  7. Interesting points.

As an older guy, what would you say are the main things you would do differently if you were 25 again?

  9. I could answer that post in several different pages and I will get more detailed when I have some time on Monday.

I would say my greatest advice is this...lets take the room where you sleep in at night or the place you work in by day. There is probably a wall that you look at most of the day and it doesnt have anything on it. Lets say I gave you a camera and the pictures you take would be used to fill that wall. For a 25 year old guy, I would say his job would be to fill that wall with as many pictures as possible and with experiences that he would like to remember for the rest of his life. For example, moments with friends, traveling abroad, moments with family...etc. I would tell him to focus on collecting quality lasting memories.

Now there are some 25 year olds who choose to spend their time on the internet, an ipod or a video game. That would be a big waste if all a guy could post up on the wall is a screen capture from a video game. Good quality experiences only come through traveling, spending time with friends/family and getting out of the house. The workplace was never for me a source of good quality experiences that I want to relive through pictures.

Once the time is gone, its gone and no amount of exercise can get it back. You have to live now, today. Many people wait for a better time, but there wont be a better time then now. You dont know if you will be alive next week at any age. By the time you hit 30, you should have been to at least Canada, Mexico, Asia, Europe and South America. You should have visited at least half the states in America. Its not expensive to travel so there is no excuse.

  10. This is an interesting article.

    http://www.cnn.com/2010/SPORT/07/05/obit.probert/index.html?hpt=T2

The man who died was 45 years old and appeared to be in good shape in the photo. From the article, it seemed like he might have had some issues with drugs and alcohol which might have been a factor here. However, here is a guy who appears at least somewhat healthy and then drops dead on a boat.

Another good example is Michael Jackson. Go watch that movie about him and you see him dancing around. He looked to be in excellent health, but then suddenly he dies.

Live for today, live for now. Focus on quality experiences with friends and family. I would not wait to do things...
