I agree with Ghost of Cutten. By the way people adress others in this forum it is not so difficult to determine who are the real despicable types here. It's not retaildaytrader.
I don't spend time with prostitutes (never have), nor do I go on a TRADING FORUM and offer a discussion on the subject to whoever will listen, complete with photos. WTF do Queensberry rules have to do with it? The guy has admitted that he frequents prostitutes in a domicile that has deemed it illegal since 1928. He is breaking Thai law. Thailand's own government will admit that roughly 40% of prostitutes in Thailand are minors. Any money spent in the endeavor contributes to the problem of child-prostitutes and trafficking. I have two daughters, a son, and another daughter on the way. I am a social liberal/fiscal conservative, non-theist. I am pro-choice, but not when it comes to my family. I am in favor of legalized prostitution, as long as it's strictly controlled. I don't consider the 40% figure acceptable. 0% and zero-tolerance of child prostitution should be the norm. Legalizing prostitution in Thailand would provide the tax-revenue needed to eradicate the child prostitution and trafficking problem. Thai registration of sex-workers is a social safety-net. It's to provide testing for STDs, birth-control and limited protection from coercion and extortion. RTD is obsessed with offering his experiences on the topic, and I can't be the only one to find this shit disturbing.
Social liberals in my country (Holland) also like to decide for others how they should behave. So you are in good company. If prostitution is illegal in Thailand you surely are one of the few people who know about that. The thais themselves would be very surprised to hear about that as almost all boys have their first sexual experiences through prostitutes and a large part of married men continue that practice. As I said Westerners are only a small fraction of the clientele. In the centre of Chiangmai there are some places which cater for "falangs" (caucasians) but further away from the tourist aray their are neighbourhoods full of Karaoke bars where you can get a girl or boy mostly for thai customers. Everything very much in the open. Thais are fond of children. They are appalled of hearing that there are people who abuse them. Sex is legal in Thailand from the age of 16. Paid sex from the age of 18. May be below the age of 21 you are considered a minor otherwise I cannot understand your number of 40% minors in the sex business which seems to me too high nevertheless. But I don't want to argue about that. When there are customers the workers in this business always seem to have a good time. It is not only sex but also for only talking and dancing they get tipped and they get a commission for every drink the customers orders for himself or the worker. They can come and go whenever they want. The coercion and extortion you talk about probably exists somewhere but it is certainly not the rule. Thais would never accept conditions like this. They are a freedom loving people. Also you have to consider that thais to us westerners look very young. I once talked to a boy and asked him if his mother knew he was in this place. He appeared to be allready married with 2 children!!
The poor, forlorn, loaded to the hilt with debt, no pussy, 2 paychecks away from the Salvation Army, american male? The joke's finally caught up to him in earnest. Luckily some americans (I'm only one of many) were smart enough to breakout/escape in time to at least catch a few decades of paradise. Just for the record its got zip to do with ability to pick up chicks - that has always been my specialty. Its got everything to do with eating fried farts and onions for aeons and then serendipitously bumping into flaming, red succulent, mellifluous papayas. Not that I can ever hope to penetrate a thick papertrader's skull, but hey, I can at least try .... enjoy, amigos. ------------------------------------- American women? ... I totally agree with the decriminalization of prostitution...who would pick up the slack? Isn't organized crime in on this big time, but then, there is always opportunity. Another growth industry would be legalized euthanasia. Perhaps this time of economic downturn might force these issues.
I was served papers today by Eric Holder, personally... I am to appear tomorrow before the Supreme Court of Thailand, Carson City, NV branch.
