I saw this mentioned in IBD today. DirectAdvertiser netspam product. Get around firewalls and email filters. Once it gets out more its going to be a big problem. Does anyone know of any counter measures? http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,1282,55795,00.html
It was quite strange when the first one appeared on my screen. I will have to shut down that messenging option if I can find where it is! Thanks...
Ahh...I have been getting this one pop-up ad randomly. It's even when I'm not running anything. Annoying...
Try running this to clean up your computer. Ad aware will remove some of the offenders. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ Bert
Dustin, I second the recommendation to use AdAware from Lavasoft to remove spyware/trojans. Try it -- you may be surprised what you have on your system. The messages MainFramer is describing is not to be confused with MSN Messenger. This messenger is a seemingly inoccuous text popup dialog box. You can send a message to yourself to see what it looks like by typing: net send <your computer name> hi! You can find your computer name by right-clicking the My Computer icon, click properties, and click the network identification tab. To disable the popup dialog: Under Control Panel, select Administrative Tools. Select Services. Double-click on Messenger. In the Messenger Properties window, select Stop, then choose Disable as the Startup Type. Click OK. You can read more about this windows feature in the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - Q148991.
Dustin- Maybe you're downloading too much porn.... Next thing you know, you get stuff for gay men and their farm animals popping up.
Nitro, click on http://www.thv.com See what pops up. I'm going to ask them about it at the next conference call. See what they have to say. The real site is http://www.thermoviewinc.com
LMAO Let me know when you are going to do this, because I want to listen in - I think I will probably pull a muscle laughing. nitro
