  4. As long as the people who travel thousands of miles don’t figure out they can merely go around the wall, 55 miles of wall is plenty. The Democrats have already won the border security issue both from a political and credibility standpoint.

Trump made a promise he couldn’t keep and I doubt his base will accept his token “compromise”. A liitle chunk of wall is not border security.

It is rare, in my perception, to see a politician get so decisively trounced on their feature issue as we have seen here. I have to wonder if late at night, inside a secret room inside Congress, Nancy is dressed in leather, a captain’s hat, and spurs with Trump saying “please mommy, no” before she uses her porn sized strap-on on him.

Historically sitting Presidents enjoy an advantage over their opponents in a Presidential election. However, the Republican Party may be well advised to open up the primaries to new, up and coming Conservatives and let Trump roll over when Nancy and the Democratic Party are through with him.

  5. Dems need to be careful about getting too cocky. That has not worked out well for them in the past, eh?

Voters will need to weigh Trump's shortcomings against his campaign promises against the sea of democrats running who promise open borders. That aint pretty either nor is the growing number of caravans that might still be coming at election time- just maybe, ya think?

Be careful about nominating a loon, that's all I can say. The dems consistent conclusion that competing against Trump will be like shooting fish in a barrel- gets revised every month. And during his campaign something happened every week that was going to be fatal. OR NOT.

Dems need to watch their arses. Trump will have problems with his base, but the dems are still trying to figure out who their base is. The baby killers who support abortion up until the eleventh month and the open borders types who hate white people are going to have problems with traditional dems too.

The virtual signaling dems are not having a good time either. Coonman, rapists, palestinian bombers, etc. It aint pretty anywhere right now.

No one should get cocky. Do some frigging work out on the campaign trail. This is not an election where we are waiting for the pre-chosen candidate to be coronated.

I don't know..... Trump has gotten 1.375 Billion dollars out of a woman who said she would never allow any wall funding. I'm not seeing this as a loss, it looks more like the Dems fear a second shutdown and have provided some wall funding. Trump can augment this funding with money from other sources and get the wall built.

One way or another we will have a border wall and Congress is paying for a substantial amount of the contruction. That'll work.

This is the right attitude. If you squint real hard, at the right angle and at the right time of day you can see the wall if only as a trick of light.

It’s there and so important that you believe that.

As someone who supports President Trump, I do not see anyone else who has my back and the back of future generations down the line. We have been given a golden opportunity. If we waste it, we only have ourselves to blame! Was Reagan able to keep all his promises? What about Clinton, GH Bush, GW Bush, Barack Obama? Atleast, President Trump kept most of his promises. If the RINO liberals did not oppose his policies, he would have gotten more done. Democrat and RINO liberals form the majority of Congress. That is the reality of it! This border wall issue should have been handled when Republicans had full control but, the RINOs would not have anything to do with it! Same with Obamacare repeal, McCain voted to keep it! I do not listen to political hacks like Anne Coulter and Rush Limbaugh who shift their positions like the wind! There is nobody there who has my back so, why would I vote for any no good RINO liberal or Never Trumper or extreme liberal Democrat who wants to turn the US into a 3rd world shithole? Elections have consequences! Remember that point. Your children and grandchildren depend on you making the right decision!

  9. What would make Trump different is him keeping his foundational promises to his base. The wall itself not big issue with me, but much of his base seem to feel otherwise. Exceptional leadership is getting things done, even with RINOs when Republicans had control of the House. World class deal making involves bringing in other issues that the other side cares about while also adding some of your own issues. There are many other issues that are intended to be used by both sides as bargaining chips rather than as a platform defining issue. Trump may have missed an opportunity to build a comprehensive deal covering many issues that both sides could brag about upon a successful negotiation. Such an event would imply our Government is working properly and credit would indeed belong to both sides.

Trump has done our country a great service by calling out conversation-controlling political correctness and the media. I have seen people challenge each other on ill-formed opinions more now than before Trump was President. The news media seems to be a little more balanced now than it was before. Trump has reduced some of the over-regulation of businesses in the US, encouraging hiring, building, and other capital investment. Minority and baby boomer employment rates are at new all-time highs. In other words, the Democratic base has benefitted greatly under Trump’s leadership. Trump has successfully renegotiated some of our trade treaties to make them more fair and is working on others. Trump had the balls to appoint Kavenaugh to the Supreme Court when the media was shredding him.

Perhaps I’ve become spoiled with so much winning, and no longer know how to handle a defeat. A defeat on a minor issue to me at that. My concern is that Trump’s base may lose some of their enthusiam and not turnout in sufficient numbers to forestall a Democratic challenger. Then again, most Democratic challengers only seem to get positive media attention if they tow a Far Left line, so there may be still hope. Maybe the Left’s willingness to sacrifice a few unwanted babys, as shown by legislation from a couple of states so far, for a narrow group of “beneficiaries” may help the Conservatives as well.

Thank you for helping to remind me that Trump, although not infallible, is still the best choice we got. By far.

Trump better get that 14 billion from seized from el chapo and put it into the wall.
He could therefore say Mexico paid for it.

He needs to bank his future on that. Nobody can take the other side of this politically and win more that 30 percent on that issue.
