I agree with other dude who called you racist. You call this woman a 'piece of shit'? Do you really think you know her story? What makes her a piece of shit? because she comes from El Salvador? Because she's short? Because she makes more money than you?

  2. NOT. You think casinos can just sign up people in Manila and bring them over? There is a very longterm waiting list trying to get into the US. Go study USCIS.gov

It is called "immigration". If you see Asians in the casinos, they are probably either citizens or perm residents of the US.

I'm not sure I can explain it in any easier terms. HD and LOW are swamped with applications because every single tradesman who got laid off does the obvious thing and applies at the home improvement stores. HD probably has 1000 applications for every job opening. Why is this so difficult to understand? The trades have the highest unemployment rate.

  5. Exactly!

Those who are not currently looking for work have no idea what it is like to be looking for work these last couple of years.

There are too many job seekers - some very well-qualify for the jobs they are applying, and too few real job openings for anyone.

Too many all do the same thing.

Got to separate yourself from the masses. Think outside the box...you know, use that thing you have called a brain?

I've only heard and/or seen a few overall people, for example, standing out on the street corner with a sandwich board/sign with something creative written on it to get noticed.

One just did in Tampa and got spotted...MBA degree/15+ years of experience. He was up on some colleague's social networking accounts after being 'spotted' and within about 2 days got 6 job offers, one for $100K.

Meanwhile, everyone else just submits resumes, punches in database fields, calls the HR office...

You have to get noticed!! You have to make it happen, because no one else will. If your job skills or what you do don't fit your market/area, well, time to learn new ones or move.

As for that woman story above...ignore her. Sure she might have a slot someone theoretically would kill for. She's also smart and knows how to work the system based on the present rules. Maybe karma gets her someday and things fall apart. Maybe not.

  8. If the poor victim "99ers" don't get their welfare benefits extended, they might have to work :(

  9. I know a kid who's going to college full time but still made over $100K last year through a part time business he started, cleaning out foreclosed houses and selling what people leave behind. Ironically his dad is a fat, deadbeat alcoholic loser who blames everyone else for his failures, lives in a cheap apartment at near poverty level and drives his 20 year old son's hand-me-down car.

  10. I don't advocate extending unemployment benefits. Perhaps if welfare or workfare should be available to those who can't find work, so that they shall have some basic shelter and food.

Let them have some trailer to live in, not homeless on the streets.
