they pay social security tax and medicare and that's about all the benefit most people get. True, they don't pay for the benefit they get from the war in Afghanistan or periodic cleaning of Mt. Rushmore. Of the 47% who don't make enough to pay income taxes, only a small minority get any government assistance.

You're confusing criticism of the claims for the plan with criticism of the plan itself. I'm not against the plan - implement it or not, I really don't care. I am however very sure the plan will not accomplish any of its stated goals - so what I am "against" is the Cain marketing plan that you (among others) have been suckered by.
