IMHO they are really a motley crew. Can't we do better? With the old rep guard still in control it doesn't seem possible.

If only a centrist can be elected the policies that will destroy this country will continue as they have for years. A camel is a horse designed by a committee. So much for compromise. You can't compromise with terrorist who are bent on killing you and you can't compromise with Washington idiots bent on destroying what's left of this once great country.
I do believe that we are outnumbered at the polls and are therefore doomed,But that is no reason to give up and roll over and submit without trying.

  3. Under Cain, capital gains would be tax-free. He would also preserve the charitable deduction. And taxing all non-capital gains income at 9% would amount to a considerable break from today's top rate of 35%.

Estate and gift taxes would be eliminated, as would the payroll tax, and most tax credits, deductions and exemptions.

Everyone is just going on about the 9% tax +state tax. Don't forget you will only be paying 9% federal income tax, or are you all paying nothing now which is why you are going insane?:D

This is where the naysayers are trying their scare tactic on Cain's plan.
Even Mitt Romney is either dumb or played dumb about it in last night's debate.
The state tax and the federal tax are two different/separate items.
This is where Herman Cain was trying to explain by using the terms "apples and oranges".
The state tax is the "apples".
The Cain plan with the federal tax is the "oranges".
People aren't realizing that they will still have the "apples" and "oranges", whether the 999 plan is implemented or not.
Are they thinking they won't have to pay state tax if the Cain plan isn't implemented???
People in this country are dumber than shit.
They just hear the word "tax" and get so scared that they can't think straight.
    Everybody should pay some taxes.
    Hey...maybe "999" is too much.
Maybe it should be "333" or "444".
But, whatever; that can be worked out for final legislation.
Right now, it's a mega-positive step in the right direction.
