Ain't ET a great place for entertainment??
Usually the ET crowd is bitching because they claim that 50% of the people pay no taxes.
Then, when someone is in favor of requiring everybody to contribute, a lot of people here go into panic mode.
    LOL

Hey folks...What freedoms and good things we have left ain't free.
Every American should contribute to the country.
Sorry, I have to be the one to break it down to you, but someone needs to.

P.S.---The people aren't taxed too little; the government spends too much. (Ronald Wilson Reagan)

  5. sorry, my apology, you are correct. No, I didn't graduate 4th grade, I was forced to attend several more years. Although Ben Franklin dropped out after 6th grade, so at least I am smarter than he was.

  6. but since 999 is so easy to understand and you understand it, if I am a farmer and I spend $500,00 on a combine will I be able to depreciate it over time?

Can you quote me on where I claimed that I knew all aspects of 999?
    Cause I know that's where you're headed.
Right now, it's just a basic concept.
Nothing has been finalized and put into law, in case you have been sleeping.

I strongly encourage you to watch the debate tonight.
I realize you're a genius, but you just might learn something.

  9. Or will you pay 9% ($45,000) in sales tax on it.... valid questions.

Look everyone, I like to think I'm as open minded as anyone.. and don't get all "political" on every point... and this 999 plan makes some sense, but as we're finding out..."it ain't that simple" - I had to suffer through the CPA exam (that's why I smile when others complain about S7 or s56, LOL)... and trying to find "fairness" is a tough thing to do. Making politics out of our gross income, personal or corporate, is not too wise... perhaps we cut spending, come up with a number that needs to be made, and allocate proportionally (sounds easy, eh? LOL).. but that would be like like budgetary accounting..where you have a budget, and then try to secure that much money... can you imagine what a nightmare that would be? Seeing every politico trying to get "pork" for their districts... oh, yeah, they already do that....

anyway, try to keep some good ideas.... maybe we'll see some tonight from here in Vegas for the Rep debate...... who knows...

Yes very entertaining from time to time! I'm particularly entertained by that oft repeated nonsense: "50 % of people pay no taxes." This is only literally true if "taxes" refers only to income taxes. In that case, this drivel is absurdly misleading, and otherwise it is dead wrong. Those at the lowest end of the income spectrum tend to pay a similar fraction, or even higher, of their income in taxes than those at the high end of the spectrum, and this is true whether a person pays income taxes or not!
