CNN poll: Majority call for arrest in Trayvon Martin shooting

By CNN Political Unit Mon March 26, 2012

(CNN) -- One month after the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, nearly three out of four Americans say the police should arrest the neighborhood watch volunteer who pulled the trigger, according to a new national survey.

And the CNN/ORC International poll released Monday also indicates that three-quarters of the public says that neighborhood watch members should not be allowed to carry weapons.

Seventy-three percent of people questioned in the survey say that George Zimmerman should be arrested, with 11% disagreeing and 16% unsure. Zimmerman admits to shooting and killing Martin, an unarmed African-American teenager, in Sanford, Florida, on February 26.

"Nearly two-thirds of whites and 86% of non-whites say Zimmerman should be arrested," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland, "as well as majorities of Republicans, Democrats and independent voters."

Translation: The sheeple have lost all understanding of due process and have almost no critical thinking skills left. Thank you mass media, pop culture, Hollywood and gummit skoolz.

  3. Most Americans are thinking just fine on this issue. A 17yr old kid should not be able to be shot dead legally by someone that provoked a confrontation over false suspicions.

The kid ambushed and assaulted an armed man. Lawful self-defense shooting...in Florida. That would be illegal in most other states.

What part of due process do you not understand? Unless you were an eyewitness, more evidence is needed.

I heard on NPR on the way home tonight that Martin ambushed and assaulted Zimmerman. You can't get any more liberal than NPR so why are people in here still saying it didn't happen that way?

  7. Source other then Zimmermans word ?

Even Zimmerman said they had words before the fight so I don't even consider that an ambush

    You listened to NPR?

The ET conservative quorum demands that you hand your credentials in!

You are no longer part of the gang.

You have no idea what took place. Nobody does. There is one witness ("John") who corroborates Zimmermans self-defense account. Provoking a confrontation is Liberal drama-bullshit speak for talking to a stranger. Talking to a stranger is not a crime, nor is it reason to attack somebody. Do you think you have the right to attack a person who talks to you, just because you feel "threatened"?

There was an interview just now on O'Reilly and the Eyewitness is a grown man named John and he just said the kid ambushed Zimmerman and assaulted him and was smashing his head against the sidewalk before he was shot. They aren't showing his face.
