You guys do not have fully formed brains. Cities have always, Always had higher crime rates than rural areas and suburban areas for numerous reasons. Cities also have higher economic output than rural and suburban areas for numerous reasons. Cities pay the bills in America. Without cities, there are no suburbs. What do you think a sub-urb is? You’d all be living in the middle of a cornfield if it wasn’t for cities. The point is cities have good and bad. Athens was a filthy crime infested city but without it there would not be western civilization.
Tokyo is a big city with very little crime. What could account for the difference? Hint: this group is 1/16th of the population but commits half of all violent crimes
Many Asian cities are exceptional. Most cities in the western world have a higher crime rate than suburban and rural areas. You and I both know it. The fact is that crime is oftentimes a byproduct of poverty. There was a great philosopher that taught something about this, something about stealing bread to feed your family not being a sin. I wonder who that could be. Anyway, it’s a story as old as civilization, limited resources leads to crime. It’s just a simple cause and effect. On another note, I wonder what the crime rate is in Moscow and if they have 1/16 the same population. Besides that, have some backbone and say what you want to say. Don’t be a chickenshit.
https://www.theatlantic.com/interna...-virtually-eliminated-shooting-deaths/260189/ A Land Without Guns: How Japan Has Virtually Eliminated Shooting Deaths In part by forbidding almost all forms of firearm ownership, the country has as few as two gun-related homicides a year.
So you're ok with violent crime, provided the criminal really needs the money? Who am I to suggest there might be a slippery slope issue with that. Anyway, no one is surprised that leftwing dems look to excuse violent crime. You worry far more about the perps than their victims. Nothing new there. It leads to 72 people getting gunned down over the weekend and no one giving a crap.
It doesn't have anything to do with guns. I think you'll find Japan's criminal statistics vs the US are all much lower across the board. It has everything to do with the culture, namely family values.
Just read paragraph 3 from the local NPR station, since you don't believe any of us that post. http://interactive.wbez.org/everyotherhour/how-chicago-gets-its-guns/
