Oh, I fully understand that there were issues- different than what the public percieved- when the case was reviewed further down in the weeds. As you say, it was largely about administrative law rather than presidential executive power. There was the issue of whether Texas has standing, and the government argued that they were exercising power under a provision of the homeland security law rather than executive power and other things like that that are too granular for the public and the press to cover. Nevertheless, Obama and his administration tried to go down a road and were stopped from doing that. Yes, the administrative procedures act was allegedly violated and was the basis for kaiboshing it. At the same time, if that had been the only issue, that would have just been a delay not a dead end. The court would have put the implementation on hold and told them to go back and fulfill the notice and review and comment period before implementing it. But the administration did not do that because Obama and the justice department saw that if they did that then they would be back on court on the next set of issues that the court did not rule on and it was looking ugly. Technically, Obama did not implement through executive order/action. He implemented it with a grossly over-reaching interpretation of a statute. As I said, they shot him down for failing to comply with the notice requirements but also worked his lawyers over enough to let them know that it was headed nowhere even if he went back and did that. If that makes anyone feel better to know that it techinically not an executive order issue- then fine, works for me.
What do you mean he didn't get anything done when they had the numbers? He got his porkulus package through. He got Dud/Stank through and he reformed 1/6 of the US economy. He also stacked the courts with far-left judges. I would say that's a lot. Its time to get rid of Obama's policies and impeach some of these judges he appointed. No one is impressed by your tweets, Trump. There is a lot of damage that needs to be repaired.
Unless I am just not following it, I think you meant to quote someone other than me above in post #63. I think your reply goes with another post. Not a problem.
Whats so difficult to follow? You stated When Obama had the numbers he jammed all kinds of stuff through. Whats the revisionist history about. My post was quite easy to follow.
Okay, whatever. I can't piece the conversation together again. You quoted me and concluded that I said he did not accomplish anything. But my quote was in response to someone who was talking executive orders and I said that he passed his executive orders in areas where he could not get legislation passed even when he had the majority in both houses. Immigration being the most prime example. He controlled both houses for the first two years but still could not get an immigration bill passed so he venture into executive orders with daca and dapa. That was the nature of my post to the other person. He did all those things that you mentioned ie. obamacare, dodd frank, stimulus etc but those were all accomplished through legislation so are not examples of obama's using executive orders to accomplish something that he could not get legislatively and are not examples of what a future president can overturn through executive order. The conversation was like that. If I have offended thee or have not been sufficiently attentive then I stand erect before you in apology.
