Don't know where you live, but please allow this American to inform you that we don't have capitalism here. What we have is some crossbreed of socialism and manipulation/thuggery.

  3. Hello

    Hello

Not only that, the guy chose to involve himself in the worst possible industry during a time of hardship..... is there any wonder why this guy is now unemployed?

Geee man, lets start a duct cleaning business, after i got laid off because of a housing collapse..... during the worst housing market in history...... yeah that sounds smart....

Is this what we have come to? Am i supposed to feel sorry for a guy who cashes out his 401k for a housing related business during a a full blown housing crash?

With thinking like this Its no wonder these guys who were making huge salaries got canned.

  6. How's that capitalist system working out for y'all?
    _______________________________________________________

Well, lets see Smart Ass. I make up my own hours but love my "Work" and I tend to work more than I ever have in my life...but break it up with trips to the dog park, to the coffe shop....keeps the day more interesting.

I will break figuers this year, not scene in my career as a Trader or working for a "Private Equity Firm" as a "Team member", making other people wealthy.

I work from my Loft (Home for you subburb folk). Moving into my new Loft in Austin Texas Jan 2011....

I am an LLC, so next year will only effect me if I pay myself out 6 figuers plus as a salary, which I will not do if taxes are raised. I'll run everything legally that I can through the LLC.

So far Capitalism is working well for me. It's the Freeloaders, Liberals, Big Corporations, sheeple and not so sharp people that will bear the brunt of this Depression.

True Capitalist are changing, adapting, and making money.

Even if this country goes the way of France, Italy, Greece...True Capitalist will adapt and make money. Hence, the Final Chapter of Atlas Shrugged...

  8. Some quick points from the CBS segment-

    1) That first lady said "the lowest job she applied for was as a clerk" in some government office.

--Almost two years unemployed, living with strangers, no money, and she never even tried to get a job working as a waitress or counter help at a fast food restaurant? C'mon. At least pretend that you really want to work. McDonalds is always hiring. Always.

    2) At the end of the group session for the unemployed, one lady said she was going to "lose her house within the next 3 months" and she's been in the house "since 1982".

--How is that possible? 28 years paying down a mortgage should have produced some nice equity unless you used your house as an ATM machine.

    3) As much as I want to rag on that guy who bought into a Ductz franchise (might as well been selling heating blankets at the equator), I give him credit for trying to start a business where both he and his son could be gainfully employed. It was a poor choice of business, but it's better than the other "99ers" who won't take jobs that are beneath them.

I feel bad for some of the "99ers", but we all know a LARGE MAJORITY of them won't take jobs unless they pay substantially more than what they're getting for doing nothing from the government.

OK, credit where credit is due: The guy tried something. I just can't believe he was a $200k/year executive before the crash. This guy should not be involved in making any business decisions.

I feel sorry for his son. One hopes the kid takes away some lessons and a work ethic from the experience. Still, if the kid wants to go to college instead of the military, there are ways to do that. Oh well, mother nature is cruel sometimes.
