Alright. I’ve found a 60% discount for first time combine but it’s too good to be true. Might try it out though with another email address. There’s still a functionality to enter a promo code. I am hopeful
TOS Paper Trade program has a number of adjustments one can make. Some kind ET members helped me set it up. I have been playing with it for about a year now and will day trade live with it shortly. Take care and good luck to your Topstep journey.
Alright. I bought a 50k combine. 1,000$ maximum daily loss limit. Maximum loss limit 2,000$ and profit target 3,000$. Goal is to risk max $300 (15%) per day. Make at least $600 (30%) per day. Hope my average to be >= $150 / day. 150$ x 20 = $3,000 to pass the combine. Gonna trade the ES with 1 or 2c. 2c only if I already have a little cushion. Take 2 or 3 trades with 2 or 3pts risk . With a least double or triple reward potential. Goal is to honor my stops. Don't cut winners short. Don't let losers run. Don't overtrade. Don't predict. Don't overlook the obvious I'll keep you updated.
In Forex/CFD prop firms yes, because they allow you to hold overnight (you pay a financing fee). Futures firms force you to close out your position by end of day, so no swing trading.
I'm sure they do post, but I don't think their postings are about them declaring to the world how profitable they are. What incentive is there for them to do that? Clout on a message board? Meh. As a general rule, the most successful traders are likely to keep an extremely low profile or at the very least keep it vague. The loud traders (for example those on YouTube) are those trying to sell you something.
Some questions of my own. (1) Do you have to disclose your relationship with TopStep to your broker during KYC and suitability questionnaires? (2) Do you have to pay "pro-rates" for data on your individual accounts if you are involved with TopStep or other prop firms? (3) Do they let you trade VIX futures or other stuff like NKD or overseas contracts? The allure is simple. Even though I've become successfully 'self funded' and now even own my own home with no debt and have convenient off-hours employment, freeing up my funds and using this company's prop funds would materially affect my situation. Thanks.
How much does it cost? Also, does it mean your trading capital is $50K and is it live or sim? Good luck to you.
It's $49. You don't actually get $50K. It's a demo account that has a balance of $50K, you can lose $2K before you fail the account and the target is $3K. If you pass the combine you get what they call an express funded account, which is basically the same, so still sim, however at this point you can withdraw profits if you meet the requirements. If you are consistently profitable in the express funded account you get an actual live funded account.
Thanks. Any time limit, i.e., how long can you stay in the game if you are within -$2K and +$3K? Effectively you have $2K of sim money + leverage to play with?
