  1. noticed a setting in TWS -

    auto reuse rejected orders

    is this perhaps relevant?

why would you want this feature?

  2. zzzap,

since you are trading 66 lots GBP DEC07, have you ever thought about a different broker/order entry platform?

  3. The "auto reuse rejected orders" is on by default and will submit any rejected orders once a connection is re-connected after a disruption in service. This is handy if you are away from you computer during the re-connection of service.

  5. Where is the setting bigbubba?

    The one I found was:

Reuse rejected order - if checked, rejected orders will remain on the trading page

which doesnt say anything about transmission ... I have however unticked it.

There is no auto-reuse in 878 that I can find ... is yours an earlier version of TWS?

  6. I dont think thats right. "resuse rejected orders" all it does is leave a rejected order with 'T' state in TWS so you can modify and resubmit.

  7. I looked in log and i see a lot of rejected orders because of lack of margin.

In total the OP was lacking over a million USD based on whats in the log.

All the following orders were rejected:

    RB 10:30:00:958 AWT-EventQueue-0: "SELL 2400000 GBP.USD CASH at 1.99350"
    RB 10:30:01:690 AWT-EventQueue-0: "SELL 1200000 GBP.JPY CASH at 229.500"
    RB 10:30:02:181 AWT-EventQueue-0: "SELL 2400000 GBP.USD CASH at 1.99350"
    RB 10:30:02:236 AWT-EventQueue-0: "SELL 1200000 GBP.CAD CASH at 2.0470"
    RB 10:30:02:372 AWT-EventQueue-0: "BUY 1700000 EUR.GBP CASH at 0.69500"
    RB 10:30:02:393 AWT-EventQueue-0: "BUY 1650000 EUR.GBP CASH at 0.69510"
    RB 10:30:02:400 AWT-EventQueue-0: "SELL 67 6BZ7 FUT at 1.9890"
    RB 10:30:02:596 AWT-EventQueue-0: "SELL 66 6BZ7 FUT at 1.9889"

Only the last order was resubmited at reconnection.
Im just wondering what trading strategy the OP was using, seems like a crazy way to trade, or more likely the OP didnt know exactly what he was doing?

  9. the situation i know of when a live order can be hidden is if you have tws installations on different computers, and set up their layouts differently.

or if you copy a layout from another installation to yours.

  10. i've never experienced the OP's problem, but i have on multiple occasions had phantom trades. the thing is, i never placed those orders to begin with. they just executed out of thin air and then my account showed the new positions. but a little later they were busted and my account positions were re-adjusted.

i figured my problems were at the exchange or their clearing firm or caused by human error at ib's trade desk. they didnt seem like a tws problem.
