That's a trick question, isn't it, because earth cannot afford it yet. Unless J. Powell and crew make some more presses to run non-stop. http://www.centives.net/S/2012/how-much-would-it-cost-to-build-the-death-star/
I'm sure Space Force is working on it, while we laugh at them they'll be working on a planet killer, although might of learnt from Star Wars and just build it onto a planet or onto a Star Destroyer, they both failed to damn it. I was like, not another planet destroyer 4 of them in total, they really need original ideas.
Would have been much more cost-effective to fit the Death Star with a hyperdrive. So you just need the one, not have to spend all that capital to build a planet killer in another planet that has limited use by using up it's parent star's fuel. That is not a good example of PRM...Proper Resource Management.
Death Stars had FTL how they moved around to destroy other planets both of them. The Planet couldn't move, but it could some how shoot beams light light years away instantly but the beams where slow enough that you could watch them come towards you so obviously slower than light but instant at the same time. Strapping Planet Killer Cannon to bottom of Star Destroyers much better idea, bit of duct tape, bish bash job done. I'm a Trekie
Hang on, destroying our planet, would stop the Covid Virus they've done enough damage for nothing, might aswell make a proper job of it. Nobody would have to suffer a mild cough and a bit of a fever for a day or 2 then. Planet Saved, hang on, Human Race saved, errrm no!! Lefties happy cause they'd of also sorted the BLM issue, 100% of all dead, finally the fair treatment they want.
You must be talking some deep Star Wars canon there, because I do not recall the Death Star ever going into hyperspace in the movies. I am a purist and go by what are in the films, not by the thousands of books that have been written to try to expand and ruin what is great as a stand-alone story line.
For starters i've NEVER read a book or shall!! Defo, first 1 hyper spaced to that planet the Princesses home planet before popping it, 2nd 1 wasn't complete and couldn't move around yet. They didn't build 1 then more next to each planet to destroy. Likely thinking the Planet in 1 of the more recent movies, which couldn't move, the Han Solo ie Ford is back movie New Film, War " The Outpost 2020 " looks good, back to that.
But how do you know? They never specifically mention going FTL with the Death Star. IIRC, They built the 1st one wherever, and it blew up Alderaan. Then at end of film it gets close to destroying Yavin, before Luke bulleye's the womprat-sized exhaust port with a proton torpedo. So it moved from A-B. But never mentions if it got there by FTL. In the third film, the second DS just happens to be being built in orbit of Endor. It gets blowed up before it can move anywhere else, heh.
Dude, seriously, your losing your geek mojo here, starts off Death Star is in DEEP Space, suckers in the Falcon with it's gravity, then it outside Alderaan Class 4 as below!! 1/4 speed of light so years to get anyway, more bad writing The Planet could also Hyperspace aswell, didn't know that. Go watch the Original move this weekend, or maybe just Empire Strikes Back, still the best.
I don't need to watch the original film for the billionth time, or the second or third for that matter. For someone who claims they never read a SW book, you sure are falling into that trap of the deep-state canon. Based on that video, the Legends geeks are extrapolating their whole "Class" system of hyperdrive based on one little line Han Solo says in the original movie (No special edition, no 20th anniversary nonsense, no "Han shot Greedo first" shit)... "She'll make .5 past light speed." And from there BS is born.
