500:1 contrast ratio for 20" lcd?

    Newegg buyers give it good reviews. Your video card needs to be able to display the monitors native @ 1400x1050.
     
  2. 500:1 contrast ratio should be more than adequate for trading / charting apps. However, this monitor's max resolution is subpar for its size (which might explain the low, for BB, $230 sale price out the door). Generally, you want 1600 x 1200 in a 20" LCD - a large, noticeable step up from the 19" standard of 1280 x 1024 - rather than the "in-between" 1400 x 1050.

    If, however, you know that you don't want / need 1600 x 1200, then a 19" would probably be a better option, for less.

    Saw this at MicroCenter this past weekend for the same price as Newegg, $299 AR... a very good price for this monitor.
     
  5. thanks alot for the info. i wasnt sure about resolution.i guess thats why its cheap(er) than others. i'll have to check the video card also.thanks:D
