In the trace amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere it most likely has little effect. Water vapor dwarfs any effect CO2 might exhibit.

    Sorry Gabby, No Sale.

Maybe some of your dimwit liberal buddies will go for it though.

  3. You don't need a degree to take a look at some data covering millions of years to see that climate changes have occured long before man ever existed, or could ever have any real impact. Common sense would tell us that's there's more to it than carbon emissions from smoke stacks.
Is the climate changing? Yes, it is. Are we playing a major role in that change? No! Does that mean we should just ignore what role we do play? Absolutley not, but I'm not willing to scrap what we know would work more efficeintly for some silly assed electric car and solar power, both of which are not worth the investment.
NG conversion should have started decades ago. I don't let the repubs off on this issue. They've had their opportunities and have done nothing either. My whole point is both parties would rather have the campaign issue than actually address the problem, therefore the "problem" is more show than substance.

  4. OK, so if CO2 is a greenhouse gas (it is) and atmospheric levels have gone up 30% in the last hundred years(they have), how would this NOT cause a temp increase?

And perhaps a better question to the deniers is........

"Who the fuck do you think you are that you know better than the world's climatologists (97%) and ALL the world's major science organizations? Seriously!"

and this idea that it's some vast conspiracy is just plain loony and people who hold such views are very weak thinkers

  5. "just extract your brain, slap it around a bit until the reception returns and then pop it back into your brain pan again. Good as new. "

  6. So tell me again how man is causing the rest of the solar system to heat up as well?

    Thanks

How many times do you have to be told the data shows warming precedes the accumulation of CO2 and cooling causes it to dissipate.

Now you use brain and think about that last sentence. If cooling makes CO2 go away..... then CO2 must or at least may not be "forcing" the warming.

WTF is a climatologist anyway... There is no way I an conceding my right to analyse the data to a person whose job only exists if they claim there is a climate problem. If you wish to show CO2... causes warming show us the data. You do not need to be a rocket scientist to put data into a spreadsheet. If you have new science about CO2 present it. But don't expect us to make logical leaps of faith just because you believe.

Its really very simple. I suspect the earth is warming.
I do not like pollutions... but the earth is cycling.. .. you need to separate your belief in man made GW from science.

  9. Ok, good, we're making progress. You've admitted that CO2 is greenhouse gas.

Now, the thirty percent increase in CO2 is due to man burning stuff. Do you agree with that? Because it's basic science to prove that it is. We know how much "stuff" we've burned and we can see that the isotope of carbon in this extra CO2 is from fossil fuels.

Knowing these two things, how can temps NOT increase due the burning of fossil fuels and subsequent release of CO2 ? Seems like a pretty basic cause-effect relationship.

Now if only you would admit the data shows warming precedes the accumulation of CO2 and cooling causes it to dissipate.
