Freedom is having no debts.
I own my own home (a boat) and have no debts for the first time in my life. It is a wonderful feeling for sure.
It is a good idea, with the interest rates for savings so low, you save more paying off an appreciating asset like a house.
Go for it.

 

Does that seem like an awful lot of volume to go nowhere?
