The figure is accurate - I'll find a link when I can. Dividends are being sacrificed on the altar of fundamental preservation - even by widow and orphan stocks such as GE.
There are plenty of companies who are not cutting their dividend or who are raising it. And they are (as usual) holding up pretty nicely. Good time to buy a few and be patient.
