How much leverage are you expecting to get in a retail account trading an ETF to consider the leverage "huge?"

I don't know of one US brokerage that allows 500:1 margin...

Where are you going to find forex pair, which would be considered "conservative investment" in a shizo enrivonment of our days? :D

If I max out 50:1 leverage it means 7% risk with a hard stop-loss of 20 pips (usually use less) for EUR/USD. It is already way too much and using more is, IMO, looking for a trouble, definitely not conservative by any means.

    Yes you're def correct,

I feel stupid for not finding that ETF... I found an ETF, pretty sure it was something like MCRO, that rose under 0.5% a day everyday. It was like a straight shallow line.

Leverage that to the max... am I fantasizing? Oh well who isn't thinking about this sort of thing on the street...

    Any thoughts = welcomed.

I'll try to find that ETF. Now where to get 50:1 margin that will let me (us) by an ETF...

  5. you don't need 500:1

stop thinking like a retail trader and get rid of the greed mentality.

you make a few mistakes and the market will rip your throat out.

find your niche in the game and trade it daily.

once you are trading with the " other guy's money......."

    you add contracts.
    one at a time.
accumulate and evaluate.....the contracts and the money.

do 10,000 trades over 20 years.

until trading is a numb behavior and your pulse never changes.
just another " at bat "

    then you have arrived.......

the first movie was the best.
    olie the teminator.

" rip their faces off......" as they say over at Goldman's.

    cheers,

    S

  7. Dude, stop masturbating on our time. ANY leverage at your intellect will result in flushing the cash. Bequeath whatever scraps you have left and then dive into an empty pool.

  8. It's an SEC regulation. 4x intraday. 2x overnight.

Mods delete this thread. Blue suit, brown shoes. It's got to be ass-cancer stock_trad3r. It has nothing to do with FX.

Atticus go to hell and reflect on your multiple wives and sex encounters.

I know what the margin requirements are. Perhaps there is a way to get at an ETF via Forex, even if what the ETF reflects is in that particular exchange.
