This piece from Tucker Carlson debating a newyork liberal on muzzle loaders is simply a thing of beauty, at one point when tucker asks to think of a single crime ever committed by a muzzle loader, the guy says "yeah well the point is to have the law in place before it happens" I cant think of a better example of the insanity of the big government mindset than that. We could think of all kinds of rules to preemptively stop situations that are never going to happen so we should do it just incase, maybe we should make a law banning unicorns from sodomising lepercauns, then we can chalk it up as a massive success when you never hear of a unicorn raping a lepercaun.
Everyone who wants to, should be able to own a gun without registering. This is your constitutional right. This is the way to combat crime. There are no 2 ways about it. Keep the felon law and make sure you have mental health restrictions if you like, and do a background check for that, but the rest of us have a right to concealed carry right now.
Uh, ok. How is a gun salesman supposed to know who is a felon or has mental health issues without background checking everyone again? Or are you saying keep the background check in place for just those issues? Because that's pretty much what a background check does now. Also checks for dishonorable discharge, and domestic abuse and citizenship. Come to think of it, what is it you don't like about background checks?
A pedophile is a felon, and felons can't own firearms. See, this is what the OP is referring to when people who don't understand current firearm law try to debate firearms. Unless you're talking about pedophiles that haven't been caught, in which case how would you stop them from owning a firearm?
Background check is fine for those issues. But everyone else has a right to own guns without registration. This is a constitutional right---Both concealed and open carry are constitutional rights--- "keep and bear"----they don't mean in a safe at home only
You must qualify any statements about gun ownership being a right of the American people not connected with militias by stating “since 2008.” Prior to DC v Heller private gun ownership was states rights issue.
If the law already bans felons from owning firearms, what NEW LAW do you propose to stop felons from owning firearms?
