Just so we're clear on my position, I don't think CEO's are paid enough dollars to compensate for what they give up and the responsibility they're given. I base that on the much greater monetary wealth that can be accumulated pursuing alternative paths. The catch to the alternatives is that they don't offer the cachet of saying you're a big time corporate officer. You pursue an officer position for the status, not the money.
