  3. i don't think don runs a chop shop at all. i think he runs a good business for the right client. also to be perfectly honest i would love to goto his boot camp. the problem is this is a very dirty business and people in this business sell dreams. so i sit here and say is he another story teller and i honestly don't know. my feeling is if he can teach you how to get to the next level his $15,000 down and $4 on 1000 is very fair. i know i would even sign a 10 year contract as long as bright has to come close to matching what the market is offering a trader. the problem is a guy bright can help will never join on a penny and 5k down with 50/50 payout because market offers so much better. a new guy who puts 15k down will lose it all so thats a safe short term deal with them. i do think there is a niche bright fits but its not alot of us on here thats all. i'm not going to keep hating on don bright because he might be selling gold for next to nothing. its just hard to know because this a very shady business.

  4. Wow, I am finally glad to say a serious discussion on this thread. We offer many variations to the serious trader. We just don't want to get bogged down with the "shooters" out there, who are hoping to get rich quick, or the "less than average" trader who's ego is too big to listen to those who may be helpful.

We don't get the $15K (it's the traders tool to use) or the $5K, and our rates are as competitive as they get for any of the solid Firms. But, more importantly, we are real in what we say, work really hard to help traders, and I even suffer the "slings and arrows" on this board with the best of intentions. (A bit tough at times, when so many are so distraught or simply discouraged...and since the "good of the many, far outweigh the relative few attacks, I'll hang in there).

Again, this particular plan was in response to several people asking me to "match" other firms....no big deal. We want our people to get to 100% payout, no long term contracts, as soon as possible...run their own show...the more they know, the more helpful BT can be in the long run.

Anyway, Bob and I are here to stay...and will be glad to discuss any reasonable business venture with serious traders (or those who are willing to do what it takes to become serious professionals).

Our "niche" is the "successful minority" of all traders...and those who really want to get there. Our interns put down zero, and the "businessman" trader puts down from $10K-$25K.... and use a lot of our capital.

I'm glad that you see through most of the bs out there, but don't get bogged down in the vernacular or details of one simple deal that fits those with low money, but big plans. Heck, they'll be full fledged traders soon, or back doing something else...but at least they have the best possible chance to succeed.

  5. I've said before that I have to leave it to our licensed traders to post their results...you know that I can't...even though it would be excellent PR. The serious nature of our business, and it's career traders is far more important to me.

As far as "classes" go.... ours go on for a lifetime, and the minor payment to "keep out the looky loos" is hardly an incentive... having one successful trader is more valuable in the long run, than any class.

Anyway, I'll see about posting up the opening results (as I do with mine), nameless, and with pennies not dollars, as long as the traders don't object (or my compliance officer). Unlike many other firms, some more noted as of late, we strive to keep a clean shop.

    Don

I would like to see results from any, any other firm's training class as well. Anyone care to bug "them" for the same information? LOL

  6. don the problem is its a fair question to know the results. i'm sure if you look at it from a outside view you can see his point. everyone is telling a story in this business so trust is hard to get. i would like to beleive everything you say but its hard. i will not call you a liar because i honestly don't know the truth. so anytime you want to should results or just knowledge i'm open to listen.

also your right other firms won't give results but most lie too. its a joke this business at times. so here is a quote why you should" just because everybody else jumps off a bridge does not mean you have to follow" haha

  8. from Brokerboy; "i don't think don runs a chop shop at all. i think he runs a good business for the right client. also to be perfectly honest i would love to goto his boot camp."

All I can say is I've "been their done that". I would have gotton more for my money had I taken the $1k and gone down the street to any casino, would have been more applicable to my trading than the week long training. This is my personal experience with Bright.

Also one of my best friends was a "former boot camp" trainee...and joined Bright w/ $15k...he no longer has his $15K or trades, not a comment on Bright , just the truth.

I've never seen such a bunch of sour pickles. Why all the bashing? (I'll betcha most of them have yet to succeed at trading, is why.)

Yeah and my friend lost $30,000 after training at another prop firm, and my brother lost $5,000 at a casino, and my mother lost all her retirement investing in a franchise, etc....

My point is in a vocation with such a high failure rate of course some are going to fail with ANY firm, I've yet to hear the Brights claim otherwise, if someone can correct me I'll gladly go back to just reading the posts instead of objecting my opinion.
The way I see it as a new trader, profitable from day one but starting with a pitiful account it will take me forever to build up to a PDT account. I've got a fairly simple but profitable system but because of the PDT rules I sometimes have to grin and bear a losing position just to keep from violating the rules, at the very least trading with Bright will take that handicap away and guess what, as an added bonus Don will show me some of his tactics and give me accesss to his capital. Right now I work 50 hours a week for someone else and another 40 hours a week doing research and trading pre- and post-market, Don has offered me at least the chance to succeed but ultimately it's not up to him, it's up to ME. Everytime I have spoke to Bob he has answered all my questions, honest and straightforward which is more than I can say for any of the other prop firms I have spoke with. Keep up the good work Don, see you in March.
