Obviously, more the 50% of Americans voted for George W. Bush to be President not once but TWICE !!!

This fact in itself is the most damning piece of evidance that the USA's biggest problem is education. EMRGLOBAL reminds us of this fact everytime he posts !!! :D

There will be no Depression in the US this decade. The reason that 48% believe it are they have an incomplete education and are perpetually scared by TV types on CNBC and others bombarding them with bad information.

That's why you invaded Iraq, remember ? It was all those WMDs out there the networks were telling you about. Almost the whole world thought the US was being stupid except Americans.

  5. So far all we've learned from the OP and you is that it won't happen because the people who believe it are idiots.

Could you please take yourself out of that group and use some actual economic data?

None of the Main Street Americans who believe a depression is likely know much about economics or markets, BUT this view is indicative of a downturn in social mood.

What does a downturn in mood signify directly after the most rapid doubling of the stock market in history?

China is developing since you can exploit their people by abusing human rights.

Americans are suffering since US regime is letting Chindia exploit their people via Outsourcing.

US Visa/Outsourcing system should be linked to Caste system in India and Human Rights in China

  8. Wal-Mart: Our shoppers are 'running out of money'

With food prices rising, Duke said Wal-Mart is charging customers more for some fresh groceries while reducing prices on other merchandise such as electronics.

Wal-Mart (WMT, Fortune 500), which averages 140 million shoppers weekly to its stores in the United States, is considered a barometer of the health of the consumer and the economy. Wal-Mart's core shoppers are running out of money much faster than a year ago due to rising gasoline prices, and the retail giant is worried, CEO Mike Duke said Wednesday.

"We're seeing core consumers under a lot of pressure," Duke said at an event in New York. "There's no doubt that rising fuel prices are having an impact." "Purchases are really dropping off by the end of the month even more than last year," Duke said. "This end-of-month [purchases] cycle is growing to be a concern.

Research just published by the BBC shows a 64% rise in people taking mood stabilizers since Lehman went down .This is no real surprise ,what is interesting is that there has been a corresponsding 36% drop in people taking doctor prescribed alternatives.

  10. From my perspective this economic path will probabbly last for 20-30years. Hopeful people are disillusioned. The mas media is still playing the part of placators. The older boomer generation does care much for evolving the sociio economic system here. Major improvements could be done for infratructure improvement and education, but the system is backed into the corner. The country is regressing toward neo-fuedalism. Where is the high speed rail, why aren't the bridges repaired, why are US students non competitive on a global scale. what will be the exportable item(s) that will bring wealth to the country. Social welfare does not work. It is abused and laughed at. BTW Canada was smart and did not buy into the NAFTA nonsense and look where they are now.
