There had been no defunding, only increased funding.Yet crime keeps rising and US police killed more people in US history last year.US police also leads the developed world in police killings by far.

You're not taking inflation into account.

More crime will result in more interactions with police, more opportunities for things to go wrong-for both parties.

So with the defunding lie called out you have to move the goal post to inflation.Got it.

And Ill point out again not only are they getting more funding on the local level but Biden just gave them 350 million in December.

If police would just not violate the constitution, the law, and police policy everything would be fine.

If crime is rising, we need more people in prison. That's not complicated.

It is more complicated. We need work on the issues that causes crime and the #1 tool criminals use to commit violent crime.

Its better to prevent the disease than just treat the symptoms.

    Chicken and egg.

Don't commit a crime, don't resist, don't be an ass and the very overwhelming percentage of interactions will go swimmingly. Where they don't, police need to be accountable.

200 deaths per 13-15 million encounter with police.

How many suspect were armed? How many resisted? How many had a previous felony?

The US already imprisons more people than any first world country.US cops kill more people than any first world nation.Yet crime keeps rising.Maybe its time we realize cops and prisons shouldn't be the top solution.
