A gun is just a tool, an inanimate object. Just like a car. You can race it (target shooting, performance, fun). You can use it to get to work (hunting, practical). You can use it to drive your family inland during a tidal wave alert or missile alert (protection, safety). You can crash it into a crowd of people (assault, malevolent). Guns aren't fun, practical, protective, or malevolent. People are.
A gun control topic. And alot of people responding! Well, what a suprise that is. Seriously, I won't get into a rant, I'll discuss both sides here: As I see, you can have a peaceful society in several different ways: Japan-No guns, no crime (relative to other G 7 countries). How do they do it? I'd venture to guess, it has to do with, higher morals, good family structure, more religion (?), more respect for people, one main ethnic group (lack of racial tensions, relative to other countries, ie the US), faith in the police, etc. The anti gun lobby here will blame it on violent video games. Well, alot of those games originated in Japan (Nintendo for example). They see the same movies everyone else sees around the world. Japan also has a lack of access to guns. It's not engrained into the culture. You'd have a hard time stabbing a dozen of your classmates if you're an enraged youth (a la Columbine). Switzerland-Lots of guns, no crime. What do you know, everyone has a gun in their house, and their aren't many boogeymen waiting to climb into your bedroom window. Another relatively isolated country from the rest of the world (relative to other modern, rich countries, not a UN member until this year, EU, etc). No major racial, immigration tensions. Again, a lack of violence could have less to do with deterence, and more to do with, good morals, stronger family structure, more structured society, more of a sense of community, etc. US-A ton of guns and alot of violence (relative to other G 7 countires, lets compare apples to apples). I've never been into guns and never will be. Nothing personal, but it seems like its partly due to the "power entitlement" most Americans think they need. Big ass SUV's, big houses, big paychecks, big powerful guns. Why weren't kids killing their classmates during "Leave it to Beaver" or "The Little Rascals"? Let's see,....better family structure, higher morals, more structure in general, less isolationism, less heavy drug use, more respect for elders, etc. It's sad that both sides have gotten so extreme on this issue.
A silly insult instead of a valid argumment. A typical liberal response when she doesn't have a leg to stand on. p.s.- I doesn't matter how hard you try or how much you want one, you'll never have one.
Well i guess you want bazookas made public too, afterall, it's just a "tool" and everyone needs "tools", right:eek:

RS7 thanks, I remember your quote ''Honey did I do well''? [#38] Female quote ''If you want special protection dont call a cop get a .38 special'' Low recoil, high energy hollow points will work. ---------------------------- Male logic- a Remington 12 gauge works well if you arent recoil sensitive.
...HOLY CRAP!! My wife is posting!!!! only kidding, because if my wife was posting the tool woud be old and rusty from non use!
