You are the source. You provided the percentage to get to that number.

Are you you saying that you are not a trustworthy source for information?

If that is what you are saying, I think that is an area in which we can agree. LMK

So basically you are pulling the 1.8 Million number out of your rear. You have to reliable source to back your claims.

Let's get back to the reality -- over past thirty years the U.S. illegal immigrant population increased from 3.5 million in 1990 before peaking at 12.2 million in 2007 and declining to 10.5 million in 2017. As of 2019 the illegal immigrant population in the U.S. has continued to decline - down to 10,350,000. It should be noted that 1.45 million of the 10.5 million illegal immigrants are people from Asia who overstayed their visas.

So basically over 30 years an average of 230,000 illegal immigrants have come to the U.S. each year. There is no evidence whatsoever that the illegal immigrant population has increased by 1.8 million over the past year. In fact the number of illegal immigrants present in the U.S. at the beginning of 2021 appears to be dropping rather than increasing due to deportation enforcement efforts. While border apprehensions have increased significantly in 2021, there is little evidence of an increasing illegal immigrant population in the U.S. cause by successful entry. In fact in recent years due to improved electronic surveillance and more border patrol funding the percentage of successful illegal crossing has declined greatly.

The bottom line -- the majority of illegal immigrant border crossings are not successful. The Biden administration has allowed on average 60,000 illegal immigrants to stay in the U.S. each month. You could possibly make a case that the Biden administration has allowed 270,000 illegal immigrants to remain in the country since he took office -- but the 1.8 million number is clearly not valid. Most of these immigrants staying in the U.S. were unaccompanied children, those with stronger refugee claims, individuals with medical issues, and those with existing family in the U.S.

    Do you get it now?

So, you are confirming that you are not a trustworthy source of information and that no one should pay attention to anything that you post.

    Got it.

You have no source... you are pulling claims out of your rear. I never stated that 1.8 Million illegal immigrants have successfully entered the United States in recent months -- this is a fantasy invented in your own mind.

I have carefully documented the numbers from reliable sources in the recent post. Go read them and educate yourself.

And stop pushing fake claims that illegal immigrants are crossing the border causing widespread a Covid increase in the U.S. -- this nonsense is merely racial scapegoating.

Which part of "at minimum" ever in the recent decade the percentage apprehended is 42% -- in recent years as show by the charts the percentage apprehended is much greater.

Let's post the chart again and see if you comprehend it.

The new 99%: These are the people who are getting serious cases of COVID-19
    https://nypost.com/2021/09/08/99-percent-of-covid-19-hospitalizations-from-unvaccinated-data/

They are the new 99 percenters: The vast majority of Americans who are getting serious cases of COVID-19 or dying are unvaccinated.

While COVID-19 cases continue to spike across the US, the overwhelming majority of deaths and hospitalizations from the virus continue to overwhelmingly be among unvaccinated Americans, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Between Jan. 1 and Aug. 30, about 99 percent of hospital admissions were among those who hadn’t been fully inoculated, which is defined by the CDC as two weeks after the second dose of a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two weeks after Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose jab.

As of Aug. 30, a little over 1.6 million Americans were hospitalized with COVID-19 — but only about 0.65 percent of them, or 10,471 patients, were fully vaccinated, the CDC data show.

The numbers highlight the vaccine’s effectiveness in warding off serious cases of the virus, even as the highly contagious Delta variant continues to spread across the country, and the same pattern presents itself when analyzing COVID-19 deaths.

In the same time period, about 99 percent of the people who lost their lives to COVID-19 were not fully inoculated against the virus, numbers published by the CDC show.

Only 2,437 Americans, or 0.92 percent of deaths, were a result of breakthrough infections in fully vaccinated patients.

Health experts say breakthrough infections are expected and are becoming increasingly common with the appearance of new variants but that only a minuscule amount are resulting in serious cases, which indicates the vaccine is doing its intended job.

As of Aug. 30, more than 173 million people have been fully vaccinated and just 0.01 percent of them, or 12,908 people, ended up in a hospital or have died from a breakthrough infection, according to CDC numbers.

Of those who were hospitalized, 70 percent were age 65 or older and 87 percent of deaths were in that age group.

The agency’s data isn’t a complete picture but is based on reports it’s received from 49 US states and territories. Nebraska stopped publicly reporting state numbers in July.

It is difficult to ascertain how many new cases reported in the US are breakthrough infections because the CDC only tracks such cases that lead to hospitalization and deaths, but the agency said the data it has draws a clear conclusion: The risks of infection, death and hospitalization “are all much lower in vaccinated compared to unvaccinated people.”

At least 35 states do track breakthrough cases at the local level, but only a portion of them report the data in “a useful format,” making it hard to track, according to a Johns Hopkins blog post published Tuesday.

“When discussing breakthrough cases it is essential to remember that breakthrough cases are expected and normal, but it is still important to record and share data on them,” the blog post states.

“The CDC only reports breakthrough cases that rise to the level of hospitalization, putting the burden of complete data reporting on state health departments,” the posting said. “This creates a gap in knowledge regarding infection and transmission patterns in communities with mixed vaccination status.”

While New York is one of the states that does not track breakthrough infections, newly minted Gov. Kathy Hochul provided a glimpse during a press briefing on Wednesday.

Between January and Sept. 5, the state health department has recorded 58,030 breakthrough infections, representing just 0.5 percent of fully vaccinated New Yorkers age 12 and older.

Of those cases, 4,585, or 0.04 percent, have led to a hospital stay.

Considering that many breakthrough infections are believed to be asymptomatic, the number is likely an undercount, but Hochul noted, “It is still a rarity.”

“We need everyone to get vaccinated. Our vaccination rates are better than they are in most states, but if you are unvaccinated, you are still vulnerable,” Hochul said. In New York state, 61 percent of people 12 and older are fully vaccinated.

“The vaccine works and it’s essential that you complete the vaccine series, and get the booster shot when the time comes.”

Unvaccinated patients make up majority of Alabama's COVID-19 patients in hospital ICUs
    https://www.montgomeryadvertiser.co...ority-alabamas-covid-patients-icu/8255108002/
    • Unvaccinated people in ICUs tend to be younger, and with far fewer underlying conditions.
    • There were 68 more patients than available ICU beds in the state on Wednesday.
The unvaccinated dominate the state's struggling intensive care units. And there are striking contrasts with the few vaccinated people in ICUs.

Hospitals say the small number of vaccinated people who get infected and develop illness already face high risks, because of their age or medical conditions that could make them immunocompromised. By comparison, unvaccinated people in ICUs tend to be younger, and with far fewer underlying conditions.

“It seems that folks who are vaccinated and yet develop illness are those you would predict are more likely to get sick,” said Dr. Scott Harris, the State Health Officer for Alabama.

The contrasts are particularly striking at the University of Alabama Birmingham. On Wednesday, UAB said 61 of 66 patients (92%) in intensive care for COVID were unvaccinated. 47 of 51 patients on ventilators (92%) were also unvaccinated.

Russell Griffin, a professor of epidemiology at UAB who has studied patients hospitalized for COVID, said the average age of vaccinated patients in ICUs there is 68. For the unvaccinated, it’s 50.

In addition, Griffin said, half the vaccinated people in ICUs for COVID are immunocompromised, because of organ transplants or chemotherapies. By comparison, the unvaccinated population that ends up in ICU generally lacks comorbidities, or the presence of two or more medical conditions.

“There have been no deaths under the age of 65 in the vaccinated population at UAB,” he said.

At East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, 80% to 85% of those in the ICUs for COVID are unvaccinated, John Atkinson, a spokesman for EAMC, wrote in an email. Over the last three weeks, the average age of vaccinated people in ICUs in Alabama is 64½ years old, while the average age of unvaccinated patients is 55½.

“Vaccination makes a difference in hospital stays overall, meaning that vaccinated individuals who have a breakthrough case tend to have less severe cases and often do not require a stay in the ICU,” Atkinson wrote. “Most COVID patients right now — in this delta variant peak — who end up requiring ICU care need ventilation, and recovery is difficult for any patient once it reaches that point.”

On Wednesday, Alabama's hospitals had 2,724 people with COVID-19, according to the Alabama Hospital Association. There were 68 more patients than available ICU beds in the state that day. Negative ICU capacity does not mean patients are turned away, but it means they must be treated in places not normally used for ICUs.

After a surge earlier this summer, the jump in hospitalizations has slowed, but hospital staff and resources are both still taxed due to the high number of patients. A recent state survey found the state's hospitals reported a need of about 500 nurses. The state is trying to allocate COVID-19 relief money to hire about 250 nurses on eight-week contracts to address the crisis.

The strain is hurting hospitals. Three federal teams have deployed to Alabama to assist staff in hospitals in the southern part of the state. EAMC, which has about 30 ICU beds in two different units, opened a third in August amid the surge. But demand for beds has often exceeded capacity. Atkinson said they had up to 39 ICU patients this week. On Saturday, the hospital recorded 94 COVID hospitalizations and 23 ventilators in use, an all-time high.

“At times, we have had to hold multiple patients in our emergency department for 24 hours or more because they were waiting for an ICU bed to become available,” Atkinson wrote.
