...in Mexico's drug war since 2006. 15,000 dead in 2010 alone. Obama, why are we in Libya? We have our own problems much closer to home! http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/jan/13/mexico-drug-deaths-figures-calderon
Actually, you are in a time warp, they've been returning in record numbers since the "great recession" of 2008. In case you hadn't noticed, they were largely day laborers in the construction trade. Well, we don't do much of that anymore. But besides that, the situation in Mexico and those murder stats are absolutely horrific. They seem to always be another under the radar metric that the mainstream media conveniently ignores. Not to mention the fact that they are becoming more brazen and targeting locales that were once considered "safe" and tourist destinations.
Anyone in the U.S. that uses illegal drugs has the blood of these 35,000 on their hands. There is no other way to paint it.
If illegal drugs fuel the illegal gang wars, why not just make drugs legal and regulate them? Cut off the drug lords' source of income and stop their wars. Really that's all there is to it.
