The elections board had investigated the complaint and found that 510 of the voters were citizens and eligible to vote. The DMV listed people who were not U.S. citizens (our NC DMV is following federal law and removing drivers licenses from people not in the country legally). So 510 were kosher and 18 warrant further investigation. If this group wants to be taken seriously, it shouldn't be so careless in its accusations. How did they find these 528? I would guess that they got a list of voters, and targeted 528 with Spanish names. Sound like its kind of sloppy down there all around. Voting is elemental. It should be completely non partisan. It should not be that difficult to have a system in place that is fair, robust, and resistance to fraud, tampering, miscounts, lost ballots, polling machines falling off trucks, road blocks nearby polling stations and other suppressive efforts.
Read the articles... Actually it is the 528 people who are flagged by the DMV (which cross checks with US Immigration databases) as being in the country illegally and denied drivers licenses. They were not flagged due to Hispanic names. Obviously they found the 528 by taking the list of names and addresses rejected as illegals from the DMV and cross-correlating it with the Wake County voter registration list. The intersection of the two lists is 528 names with addresses. What makes everyone wonder is how the Board of Election could find that 510 are US Citizens and eligible to vote ... when the only thing they check is the voter registration forms and not databases. BTW the 18 flagged as bad are because they registered with addresses that do not exist or are commerical locations.
I read the abstract. Gwb, they have to sort that out. I don't know how people can be voters and then be aliens for jury duty purposes. When the mess gets straightened out I'd like to be informed. Either they are ineligible to vote and properly rejected a jury duty notice, or they are eligible to vote and improperly rejected a jury duty notice. Or, the State has totally fucked up its records. Frankly, isn't it hard to beleive that an alien, an illegal alien would register to vote? Those guys want to stay under the radar. Again, its puzzling and needs an answer.

Go to one of the poor neighborhoods in North Carolina during election season - there are commissioned representatives from organizations similar to ACORN standing on every street corner signing up people to vote. If you sign up to vote then they give you a gift certificate worth $15 to $50. They even have representatives with big buttons saying they speak spanish. The reality... there are many illegals In North Carolina signed up to vote. There is also no downside risk, North Carolina has never in the history of our state prosecuted an illegal alien for registering to vote. There is a financial motive to register so people do so in droves.. Most illegals however do not go to the polls and actually cast a vote unless they take the Democrats up on their bus trip to vote and more money for the mall scheme.
