LMAO thanks for being awesome, Guys. Well … I think we can learn stuff from poker as traders. But we might very well learn stuff from anything … The hard part isn’t acquiring wisdom, But it’s to leverage situations in real life. If it doesn’t solve any problem … It’s useless, indeed ! Didn’t trade today. Hope you guys had a nice day. Wish you a wonderful weekend
This is hilarious. NT want you to pay to get a feature removed. The Dynamic "SuperDom" freeze when the mouse hovers it. It's kinda annoying and something I've never seen anywhere else. https://ninjatrader.com/support/for...rt-aa/1074206-stopping-superdom-from-freezing Sounds like it was an option on NT7. Static SuperDOM cost is $.10 per side per contract traded. Thank you NinjaTrader.
This is likely due to an old patent that Trading Technology holds. Read the following thread for more details: https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/trading-technologies-awarded-patent-for-dom.36783/
It is essential that the superdom freezes, because otherwise you will probably place orders at wrong prices. Especially when prices jump up and down at a rate of 5 times per second. When it freezes you can select the exact price you want for the order. Try to do that when prices jump up and down at a rate of 5 times per second. The same if you want to put a stop order. You should indeed thank NinjaTrader for this. If you click when the price is at 3850, your price can be a few ticks higher or lower, depending on how an when the prices jump up or down. You must be a superman if you always manage to place orders at the right price.
For placing orders I prefer the chart trader on Ninjatrader. I bought an add-on called Clicker by Volaty which makes it really easy to place trades. An advantage with the DOM is that you can place 1-click orders, but I'm not really sure it's needed?
As I only use market orders, DOM is the way to go. And the stop is placed automatically (ATM strategy).
Still 5 points ES. As long as I don't get stopped out on trades that would end in profit, I don't put him higher. The day I lose money because of too close stops, I will try to find the optimal point again. I noticed, long time ago already, that I should stay around 0.13% of the notional value of the ES.
I wouldn't change the DOM, but I would pay ninjatrader to remove ©2023 Ninja Trader, LLC from the price field of the charts. I don't think any other platform does this. I know it was thing to do back in 2005, but it's been 17 long years already. Maybe Elon will buy NT and charge us $8/month to replace the ©2023 Ninja Trader, LLC with a colored checkmark of our choice. That's a generous thing for you to share, @virtusa Anyone else wonder how close you could get to that $2,000,000 by next Christmas? Amazing what 3.5 ES points per day could do for you if you have the disciplinary capacity to size up.
