Say who? You mean all domestic flights canceled is priced in? NYC under quarantine is priced in? Try again moron and stop sucking Trump's dick.

Guys, it could be bad or not, nobody knows at this point. If the market keeps tanking without some numbers to justify it, then, it is over sold on panic. Everyone is taking precautions now, but is it too late or not, that's to be determined. For now, we are seeing selling based on the fear.

but why is the actual new cases still coming down.

it will be imported so what, just like every flu.

I will make another post to put some numbers around this whole thing because the fear is based on nobody can quantify it.

I am sure there will be numbers. Italy, the 8th biggest economy is in a lockdown. Their quarterly numbers will be effected.

But anyway, even if OP is right, a thread on ET won't change the people's perspective of the virus.

And I am not buying, when everyone is selling.

I use the car death argument all the time... especially during the past weeks with folks in China....well not so much arguments, more like moral support...

because if they are shut in the house for 3 weeks... yeah them not dead from the virus maybe, but right when they go back to work is when them gonna face this virus that kills 700 a day in China - the virus called 'road kill' !

your a typical idiot who has zero logical thinking ability... but I am gonna help you, with my longest post so far today.

Wuhan, the epicenter, has what 3000 dead.. this thing started in December, and in a densely populated city like Wuhan, that means EVERYONE was already infected. if you don't understand the word 'densely', go visit China once... the word 'densely' means a whole new level in China than what you imagine about NYC or LA.

let say if no shut-down was done. it will would have 5000 dead total. the city populatation is 5m, so call it 1/1000 death rate, on the population.

then you take a country like the US, the population density is FAR lower. US and China has roughly the same land size, but China perhaps only has 1/3 of habitable land, Tibet and Xingjiang, the big west is like US Death Valley.... and they have 4 times the population, so density is roughly 12 times bigger.....

but let's say, worst case scenario, instead of reducing the 1/1000 death rate by 1/12, lets just say cut it to 1/3, so in the US there would be 100,000 dead, if NOTHING is done, other than the basic quarantine like if you or your kid is sick you just rest at home or go to hospital instead of going to school and work to sneeze on everybody's face.

so 100,000 dead, vs. 2018 flu season official number 80,000 dead..... it's just another f'cking flu, or maybe flu on steroids.... but then where was the panic in 2018? nobody even remember it now.

when I say 'everything priced in', it does NOT mean corona with 4000 dead so far is only 1% as severe as the regular flu with 400,000 death globally.... everything priced in means the mitigating factors - including cancellation of flights, reduction of travel and biz shut downs, and damaging factors like the lack of vaccine.... that's what 'everything priced in' means.

and again, why do people panic like this - first of all the general population with 100 IQ is a moron, so they are media driven and all go shitting in the pants.

the media, of course is not in the interest of informing the public.... they are in the eyeball grabbing biz... and corona is a perfect headliner.

then there are the school/biz/muni officials.... these people are slightly smrter than the general population.... and a big factor is CYA.... nobody will get fired by 'over-cautious', but can be easily finger-pointed if only 1 student/employee/resident dies from this thing.... so there is the motive behind all these CEOs wrting stupid CYA letters to the employees.

and again - I posted about a back of envelope calculation yesterday - the shut in done in China - get your facts straight before you open your mouth and reveal that you know nothing. Wuhan is still shut down, but the rest of the China is already back to biz/work regular life, after a 3-week sit-in.

now there is a fear that what if we do the same in the US.... first of all due to the population density it makes ZERO sense to implement something like this.

then you think about it - if we shut in for a month, yeah the corona death maybe reduced, but how many more are gonna die from depression alcohol drug abuse or heart attacks strokes due to lack of movement.

    PEOPLE ARE MORONS.

it's a shame that such a stupid specie is at the top of the food chain.. this earth deserves much better lol.... so yeah corona is a god send, let it thin the herd a little, clean up the weak and the sick and the stupid a little.

Bill Burr wanted to sink cruise ships, it's just too f'cking funny that cruise ships were used in this joke.... corona is so beautiful, you don't even need to sink 'em ships.

and I am glad you finally got Trump's dick off your chest you f'cking loser.... I told you losers to bet on Trump, it's not too late, the line is only -160, it will get to -1000 very soon and you can be in the money so you won't cry in November and another 4 years there after.

so here is my lengthy answer to you moron, go grow some IQ points and come back argue with me.... at the mean time get off my lawn.

forgot 1 point in the long post I just made.

there was another back of envelope calculation I posted yesterday.... with the shut down China did, Wuhan is almost 2 months but opening up soon, the rest of China 3-4 weeks, about 2 weeks longer than the scheduled Spring Festival long break.

plus the business ramp up period, let's call it a 5% drag on the GDP... the human life is NOT priceless.. if you use figures from insurance companies how they calculate life risk, the 5% GDP drag is about 500,000 deaths of Chinese lives.

that's how stupid the shut down is. not to mention 2 other factors

    - the virus mostly kills the weak/old/sick - them people were the burdens of the society anyway, so in a cold hearted view it's actually a PLUS.

    - the benefit of the shut-down, aka the prevention of some deaths, even without the GDP damage, can already easily be canceled by quality of life damage, which is unmeasurable, like nobody can sue the government because they are forced into self jail for 2 months.

    - but 1 figure can be measured - how many more died from depression alcohol drug abuse heart attacks, and just general lack of public service? like if you have a stroke you can't even get to the hospital in time.

so the Wuhan shut down perhaps prevented a couple of thousand deaths from corona, but how many EXTRA deaths did it cause?

this IS measurable, but in China nobody's gonna do it, and even if someone does, the gov is gonna silence it for sure.

    again, PEOPLE ARE MORONS.
