anthony_trader: > i'd just like to thank everyone for their responses. Since you have provided us this http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=415051 can you post a copy of your trading transactions over the past three years? Thanks.
why don't you believe me? speakingout posted my statement - what more do you want? how much do you have in your account?
Hi there Anthony, I think these replies are based directly towards your return on investment linked with your indecisiveness. Like I said earlier, trading is a decision making business. You seem to have the stuff of a profitable trader. Regarding your capital base, more then adequate, however: Trading for a living is accompanied with a hole new set of rules. Continue with your dayjob, someday you will just know (yourself) when to enter on a permanent scale. Which ever you decide, all the best. PS: You currently have the best of both worlds: Security (Job) and being highly profitable on the sideline. Not bad is it?
Anthony hi there. Glad to meet you. Trading at home full time will be awesome for you. You are making the correct decision. Most people who trade retail out of a home office do very well. Then there are prop traders who use other peoples money but for the most part trade out of an office with an OTB type environment. There are some prop traders that trade remote but these guys are 1 step away from being homeless. The home office way is the way of the sophisticated trader. They are the true capitalist and the one that gets the most respect when you tell people at parties what you do. Obviously to be a successful at home retail trader you need to have capital, which is the case with you. You have a ton of it, you will be fine. It just has always bothered me in trading that people who are woefully undercapitalized can take 5-10 grand get leverage pay interest on the leverage month to month to their chop shop..i mean prop shop, all the while they have a chance of success of about 1%. That's where all the animosity comes from against you trading at home Anthony. Most people here on ET are jealous as all sin against a guy like you who built up his capital and took his time and now has the aces in his pocket and is ready to blast off. Shoot I am jealous, but I am only 23. I used to trade prop so I know first hand what I say about that god awful crap of an existence. I wised up now (I only lost half my money!) though and now I am working. I don't currently trade on the side as you do but I plan on building up my account that way. If I ever do leave a job it will be with money like yours or hopefully something over a 100k stake. Just be prepared for all the trolling that will go on here against you Anthony its a way of life at ET. Speakingout said you will be starting full time trading by mid March of this year. I say very cool, if you need any advice on computer setups or anything in that area, that is a speciality of mine please feel free to PM me (private message, that means) anytime.
thanks trade4. I have started a journal http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=415513#post415513
Why the hell would ANYONE post their trading statements for the past 3 years on a public board? -Fast
Same reason someone would want career advice on a public board. Regardless, I just wanna see his trades, I dont need any trading statements.
What's the point? You'll probably just call BS on his trades too. I think a Moderator should lock this post now. -Fast
The point is I wanna see if he is a real trader or just incredibly lucky. Or maybe he actually had almost a million at one point from catching the dotcom train and been slowly losing it the last 3 years. Or just close the thread.
