So, just like Trump ordered our troops to the border, which did what? Violate the international rights of humans seeking asylum by preventing them from entering the U.S.? Nope. And, have those Mexican troops showed up yet? If so, what are they doing? Making sure everyone stays in a single file line? How long will they stay? Oh, you thought they would violate the international rights of humans seeking asylum, even though U.S. Republicans etc. disagreed with Trump on the tariffs? Let me simplify it for you ... No progressive tariffs, No stoppage of immigration, only (maybe) more veggies. Why "maybe?" ... __________ https://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/07/tru...erts-tariffs-by-purchasing-us-farm-goods.html “This seems very odd to me,” said former U.S. Department of Agriculture Chief Economist Joseph Glauber, senior research fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute in Washington. “I am not even sure what a commitment like this would mean since private importers [in Mexico] do most of the buying.” __________ If fact, what Trump has done these last few years is increase immigration.
I lived in Mexico 12 years. Honduras around 10 years. Have you lived in either country? Have many friends in both countries. I am sure there are many Hondurans and Mexicans that you can take in your home, wherever that is at. Of course, they won't have documents or visas or any such thing but I suppose that won’t matter to you..eh. They will probably come at their own expense ...walking...maybe you could meet them at the border and usher them in?? They would be asylum seekers WITH international rights. PS I had to go legally into Mexico or get thrown in jail faster than you can spit out your tobacco juice. In Honduras likewise. Not suggesting nor recommending it but you could make a test run and see if you can get into either country without a visa? We will be on standby to rush you some food as you sit in a Honduran jail since they don't feed the prisoners there. Someone has to bring you food or well....you just fast. Bet you didn’t know that eh? Did you see the video bout the Honduran caravan lady complaining about the food the Mexicans gave her? Beans and tortillas. She called it pig food. But wait...you probably don’t speak Spanish. So, you will just have to take my word for it. Walks through Mexico..probably illegal. They don’t kick her out but instead give her food to eat and she retorts with “pig food”. With a little bit of searching you might could find her and take her in your home and feed her ribeyes?? But wait a minute. It may take a long search as thousands are at the border illegally. Maybe the liberal fake news media could help you find her?
Amazing fact: President Obama set multi year RECORDS for deportations. Through 2018 the Trump administration hasn’t even come close.
I guess "how popular" is one way to put it... https://www.pewresearch.org/global/...tings-remain-low-especially-among-key-allies/ Critical views are also widespread among America’s closest neighbors. Only 25% of Canadians rate Trump positively, more than six-in-ten (63%) say the U.S. is doing less than in the past to address global problems, and 82% think the U.S. ignores Canada’s interests when making policy. Meanwhile, Trump’s lowest ratings on the survey are found in Mexico, where just 6% express confidence in his leadership.
Focus. Stop moving the goalpost. It's unbecoming. Your "dissertation" has absolutely nothing to do with my assertions -- and I don't do 'going down rabbit holes.' Please reread my posts regarding Why I think Trump will moonwalk on his Mexico Tariffs, and try responding to that instead--or don't. Thanks!
Cliff's notes on that. Why do you think this? I am rubbing my chin on it, and getting the feeling he really is using his political pulpit to game the markets for his unknown "friends". I hate to think this is true, but damn, things keep falling into place on that line of thought. And this stems from that Howard Stern interview on the Colbert show last week (2 weeks ago?). Stern has some SERIOUS insights into people, as he's been digging into people's psyches for 40 years.
@bone clearly was trolling as a distraction to the discussion topic. He will never admit anything negative about Trump. Real men call a spade, a spade; others BS. I'm thinking about selling cranial-sphincter extraction tools in these forums. Could be very lucrative.
Play the man, not the cards. Trump wants to do progressive tariffs if Mexico allows immigrants to enter the U.S.; but he doesn't want to be overrode by Republicans more so. So, rather than simply withdraw the proposal, he'll spin it into "another great MAGA deal!" to save face, as he knows his followers will eat it up. Trump wants to go into the 2020 elections with as much support as possible--as his freedom may depend on it. Interesting possibility you raise. But if anything like that is occurring, I believe it would actually be the friends, family, employees (lawyers, doctors, etc.) and other advisers around him, that are actually manipulating him into making various volatile markets via tweets for their personal gains. Trump simply wants the markets to keep going up.
