Has anyone ever had a market order at the open not execute until the next day?

Nope - what did your broker say? Sounds like the order was lost - what product/exchange?
Forget ADV - what was the volume that day?

Haven't talked to them yet. It's Schwab. It was Monday, XLF, double volume.

They may owe you the opening price and they may have done you a favor. Either way, ask them.

  5. Or you could ask to bust the trade entirely

    UPDATE:
Apparently when you enter a trailing stop at Schwab on the weekend, the trigger price isn't Friday's close, but Monday's open. I asked this question at Fidelity and they say it's Friday, ditto with IB, and those trailing stops executed as they should have. The bozo I talked to at Schwab was flabbergasted that Fidelity and IB would do that. Convince me I'm wrong.
