picked up one of these.... the image quality is marginal. The panel looked nice in the store; the demo (a photo) was comparable to a $550 monitor sitting next to it. The text in various Windows screen looked sharp too. But when I brought it home and hooked it up to my trading software, the charts looked washed. My mistake, I shouldn't have relied on the photo, I should have brought my own text/graphics/chart document for testing. I will try tuning it in the next few days; my nVidia card can do a lot of adjustments, maybe all it needs is some tweaking.
after fiddling around various adjustments, both on the LCD and in the nVidia Control Panel... the monitor looks good now.
Folks, Has anyone considered using a HDTV as a monitor? If so, how is the resolution? Are there any problems associated with using a big-screen TV for a computer monitor? The obvious advantage of using a HDTV is the massive size -- 50"+ TIA
Using HDTV is OK, but only if you are going to view it from normal TV viewing distance... like 6-10ft.
take a look at these comparisons and decide yourself: http://elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1803228&highlight=resolution#post1803228
