Didn’t Scat and Handle123 serve in the same platoon?

F yeah they are, and as such they don't know any better. That's exactly my point.

Well there is certainly a degree of that. They volunteer and its not a bad gig really. A very small percentage of our active duty actually experience hostile fire environs. We only hear the bad stuff, the PTSD and suicides etc.. but most have a tits job. Family separation sucks, but they have benefits out the ass. And the pay with all the benefits is actually pretty damn good. Officer and enlisted. That said, back to the discussion at hand, Vietnam was different. They were drafted for one thing, and for another thing it wasn't a war where every little detail hit Twitter and Facebook in an hour for MSNBC or CNN to parade out to millions of viewers with their twist on things. It was ugly. Shit went down. There were psycho's. On both sides. The N. Vietnamese were brutal evil fucks. They were. No different than the Japanese in WW2. Some of our kids retaliated in kind. The whole thing was ugly.
So yeah, while I agree with the whole "thank you for your service" is waaay overused today, the cats that were in Vietnam honestly deserve that praise. Each and every one. Just like the old dudes that we have so few left of that served in WW2. They deserve that thank you too. But a good solid 80% of our active duty now.... uh-uh.... there's no comparison.

All veterans are proud of their service. That argument is about as strong as saying all Republicans are wanna-be slave masters. Up your game Tony if you're gonna chat with moi. I won't be drawn into illogical debates.
Scat never bragged about killing Asians. Period.

Firefighters & linemen voluntarily put their lives in danger as well. They get nice benefits for their choices too.

You are not an American so your opinion is not valid.

You debate about as well as B1 does from the other side. Completely deficient of anything resembling the thought process required to make a valid counter-point. It just... "is the way it is"... in your heads. No ability whatsoever to think outside a limited field of vision and enough lack of IQ to not even realize that is where you're at.
    The two of you:
