BJ's is back at $65. Nuveen took a large stake in early December. The largest holders are still FMR at @16MM shares and Vanguard at 13.3MM shares however. BJ's---> $65.24
Jeffries (JEF) reports after the bell tomorrow. It may take a hit initially, but anything around $34-$36 would be a good buy if they do. I think they'll do well in 2024. Lots of mergers and acquisitions coming.
Why is AIR down 4% even after the company said they didn't work on the Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 flight? Maybe the market doesn't believe them.
Is that why it dropped? I didn't see any news about that. It bounced off of the $55's pretty hard. $58 now.
Yeah, no way they'd lie about something like this. Some fund manager that knows AAR does contract work for Alaska must have panicked and dumped their shares before AAR released their statement (Reuters) - Aviation services provider AAR Corp said on Monday it did not perform any work on or near the mid-cabin exit door plug of the Alaska Air aircraft that had a cabin panel ripped off while in mid-air. "AAR was contracted by Alaska Airlines to perform a 2KU Modification (Wi-Fi modification) on the aircraft that was performed from Nov. 27 to Dec. 7, 2023," AAR said.
4600 puts traded today already, 100X normal volume. 2500 were bought at the ask. They can kiss that money goodbye. ALK just went green on the day. $35.58 was the low, $38 now. That says a lot about the airline sector in general. They have to ground nearly 100 jets in their fleet and the stock is green?! Buy DAL for earnings Friday! Next stop, $50.
Off topic. This: Whoever this guy was, he's been gone for a couple months now. They have a new person narrating the "what's up next" clips leading into commercials. Whoever that voice belonged to, I wish him well. His voice was on CNBC for well over a decade. The new guy is good, but it's not the same.
"At one point Monday, AAR shares fell as much as 8% in morning trade; they pared losses after the company's statement {"that they did not perform any work on or near the mid-cabin exit door plug"} and were down 2.9%."
