Have you not heard of this novel concept of supply and demand? Blue states are expensive to live because people with money bid up prices, nobody gives a shit about shithole red states so prices are affordable.

    Here's why

  2. Actually, you probably already know the relevent statistics. But how do you measure high efficiency? How do you account for quality metrics when comparing statistics? How does one account for the benefit of the community as a whole gains when basic needs are priced low because of high efficiency? Some of these Red State guys plant their own crops, till it, transport it, repair their own equipment, build their own storage and workshops, dig their own wells, lay piping, create a irrigation system, and so on. The cost of production is minimized here and thus is not directly comparable to other methods as one might find in urban areas. Of course, they don't have the higher taxes or regulations that require them to buy goods and services from a business that is in Leftist's pockets, either.

Indeed efficiency could be measured by price, as in low price. Compare the price of bottled water per pound and the cost of bulk grains per pound for example. Heck, compare the cost of water per gallon to the cost of gasoline per gallon, after considering all the taxes, transportation, refining, exploration costs, marketing costs including service stations, and environmental and other regulations associated with the extraction of fossil fuels.

US consumers are getting a great deal on gasoline and other energy prices as well as bulk, unprocessed food and the Left is talking about how much more economic productivity they control? It is not a fair comparison, anyway. Would you like to see energy and food production to become less efficient? Would you like higher prices that would enable better per capita comparisons?

I would like to see statistics on how many people in the US realize the great efficiency and low cost of two of the more important things they buy: Energy and food.

Perhaps if they did, they would more fully appreciate the contribution the Red States provide.

  3. 2008, a year with particularly low agricultural prices? What does it look like in 2016 or 2017? Also, what is the percentage of retired in the Red states versus the Blue states?

  4. Either that or hardwork and responsible savings pays off.

Let's define S**thole: High taxes, high crime rates, traffic congestion, high stress levels, and poor infrastructure maintenance sounds like a reasonable definition that would also define most Leftist controlled areas except for places like Beverly Hills, of course.

You seem to know nothing, how do you trade without looking at the data? Before wasting your time on politics debate, spend a few years learning things. Politics is for people who have nothing more to do.

  6. Meh, say the other guy is stupid and change the subject. Oh, and thank you Obama for forcing healthcare insurance on people who didn't want it. Why you do think healthcare stocks did so well on the rumor of Obamacare as well as after the news, Mr. Trader? Was it because healthcare costs were to go down?

    Guess again.

What happened to wait times for healthcare since Obamacare has been imposed on the American people? How many more unnecessary procedures are there now? What about the cost of certain pharmaceuticals going up over 1000% overnight?

I know of a poor working class middle aged single mom black woman in Portland, OR who had unnecessary surgery on the breast. It was calcification, not cancer. They surgically removed the non symptomatic calcification after initially doing a biopsy. At least they did not subject her to chemo or radiation. Although she did not have to pay for this unnecessary surgery, she was down a couple of days and risked complications that normally go with surgeries, including anesthesia.

Yes, they have found another way to fook minorities: Obamacare.

As for your comment, "Politics is for people who have nothing more to do" does this apply to you?

I didn't call you stupid, I called you uninformed since you jump to conclusions but are unable to back up your weak reasons with data.

And you are blaming ACA for certain pharma prices? Don't waste my time with kooky right wing bullshit, this isn't Fox News comment section.

Your argument is that poor people having insurance made your waiting times longer... even for a Trumpy, that is evil. You must be a Trump evangelical christian (where you can bone porn stars while married and despise the poor just like Jesus said you should).

So you think that more people going to the Dr. increases the % of unnecessary procedures, just logically seems like there would be less because they don't need to supplement income as much since they have more patients. Hmmm

    Surreal....

  9. It's simple. Where you have a third party paying for another, the quantity of goods and services demanded increased by the user because it is "free" for them, or in the case of college education, easily financed.

All you have to do is look at the inflation rate of healthcare and tuition versus most other consumer goods and services over a long period of time during several economic cycles to recognize something is going on. It is not unusual for see double digit annual price increases for these items.

Have you not seem Turing Pharaceuticals and others raise prices? What is the cost of medical procedures now versus just before Obama care was enacted? What is the net effect of Obamacare on the US Governments budget?

On the Vancouver, WA School of Dentistry website they show expected annual tuition price increases of over 12%. In other words, some of these colleges expect large annual tuition increases.

So tell me, Mr. Trader, if the cost of something goes up faster than one's ability to pay for it (Government budget deficits or wage increases), what happens to the affordability of that item for people who do not get free benefits? How many additional hours per year does one need to work for the same item and pay for it (plus interest). Also, when a smaller group must pay, either directly or indirectly the costs of a benefit for another, does not their financial burden multiply according to the number of non paying participants? Don't the non paying participants demand (or are offered) the most healthcare, to boot?

There is no free lunch, free college education, or free healthcare for that matter, and this is the reason why Leftist policies ultimately doom the communities, the states, or the countries economic system and prosperity of its most productive citizens.

Furthermore, even when someone does not pay for a good or service directly, working class people pay for it indirectly through higher taxes, including interest costs. Wasn't Obamacare basically a transfer of healthcare costs to working class people?

Again: Demand Push Inflation is caused by easy financing or a Third party paying for a good or service for the benefit of another.

  10. Surreal is how I feel. I'm not a likely user of the healthcare system as I take care of myself to a reasonable extent. As far as waiting times, I am merely relaying complaints I've heard. The choice whether I self insure or not, should be mine.

Do you want to talk about taxpayer funded abortions now?

Unneeded medical procedures are increasingly common on both the poor and the Middle Class.

As far a healthcare for the poor, this is where family, church, or borrowing, would historically come in. Too bad Leftist propaganda is geared towards breaking up families and reducing the influence of churches in our life's.

I am not obligated, morally or otherwise, either directly or indirectly to pay for some else's healthcare. People are free to volunteer to pay for another, but it should not be forced on everybody who works. If there was no Obamacare, the one needing healthcare could look to the church, family, borrow, or launch a go fund me campaign.
