More people agreed with our message as 3 million more people voted for Hillary.

Oh, so 3 million people jammed into Democratic cities agree with the message that hand-outs are good for them. Hardly surprising. But this Democratic message does not resonate nationally, nor will it help in the upcoming 2018/2020 elections.

Let's remove the Democrats from the vote tally from the five largest cities in the U.S. and see what the popular results are... it appears that the Democrats would lose by more than 5 million popular votes.

Getting 3 million more votes means it does.Coming up short 78,000 votes doesn't mean the message does not resonate nationally.

Losing states that were counted on to be solidly Democratic --- so much Hillary did not even campaign in them -- means your message failed to resonate nationally.

The fact that she didn't campaign in them and only came up short by 78,000 votes says the message resonated.

    I didn't say that.

I was making the point that the popular vote is meaningless in an electoral college system where a large bulk of the popular vote represents Democratic cities concentrated in small geographic areas. These cities tend to not sway the EC tally whatsoever, but they add a large number of "quite meaningless" popular votes.

Again,Hillary only lost the EC by 78,000 votes. Its not like she was crushed like Trump was with the popular vote.

They were not meaningless when Obama crushed Romney and Mccain. A popular Dem would turnout enough votes in the cities to make the rural areas irrelevant.

  10. Where "fine" is defined as having the lowest number of democrats in elected offices in this country since the civil war. You have to be one of the few democrats in the country who actually knows what the message is. Half of the dems are arguing that you need to move to the center to get in touch with mainstream americans and the other have half to split from the party or take the entire party over to commieville with Bernie.

Pelosi loves ya though. The number of dems under her leadership has just gone south but she is out there arguing that things are fine and she has done a great job. Keep up the good work Comrade. I am sure you will get an extra potato in your rations this month. Even Huffpo and Salon - the bibles of the democrats- are arguing that she needs to go and the dem party- including potential candidates and policies and messaging- is in complete shambles.

If it is working for you then fine because it works for republicans too.

Here is at least one issue that dems can rally around as a start to building consensus. Maybe you will find more by the time 2020 comes:
